We used Carrani Tours for a day trip from Rome to Pompeii. It was okay but nothing memorable or special. The overall tour went fine. We initially started the tour in Rome with a gal. She was nice but really didn't offer any commentary on...More

Carrani Tours to Pompeii - anyone used this group? (3 Replies)
We will be In Rome next month for several days and my children would really like to see Pompeii. I asked the concierge at our hotel to provide some options for a day trip and the hotel offered a tour to Pompeii and Naples through Carrani tours. Does anyone on this forum have experience with this group? If not, can someone recommend a reputable tour comapny? We will be one adult and two children ages 10 & 13. Thanks!

We need to get from our apartment at Via Arco Della Pace Rome to Carrani Tours at Via Vittorio Emanuele Orlando (Rome?) for a 7.15am tour departure. How reliable are the taxis if we book ahead or is there another way?

I'm not sure where Via Vittorio Emanuele Orlando is, but I think it's somewhere near the Repubblica metro stop. If so, it's about 10 minutes from your apartment by car. I've never had a problem with a taxi I booked, but I usually ask my hotel to book one. Staying in an apartment, you won't have this possibility. How were you planning to book the taxi? Will you have a phone? According to the ATAC website, the number 492 bus would take you there. There is a stop on Via Giuseppe Zanardelli,...More

we are really sorry about the disappointment. After checking with our colleagues in Rome, we have been informed that generally the quality of food was satisfactory, the food was fresh, was served warm and the décor was adequate for the Christmas eve dinner. Because of the large amount of people gathering in the square that night, certainly there were some delays and waiting time, however we are told that everyone was able to get inside the Basilica in time for the Mass. In reference to the...More
