Margherita helped show my family around a number of sites in and around Rome over a number of days. She had to deal with kids as young as 5 up to adults with advanced degrees, some of which were in fields related to Roman history. She handled it all with good spirits, flexibility, and deep knowledge. How she managed to... More

Most of us can see the landmarks of Italy only once in our lifetime. That is reason enough to have the best tour leader who knows in detail not only the facts but also interesting stories. Margherita is excellent. She related well to all ages and tailored her information to our interests. She has an astonishing memory and thorough understanding... More

My wife & I had a vacation planned to Rome week of 2/20/17. My boss had used Margherita Capponi as a guide when his family visited Rome ~ one year ago & highly recommended her. Margherita guided us one day on a Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel/St. Peter's Basilica tour. On another day was the Colosseum/Roman Forum/Palatine Hill tour. Margherita was fantastic!... More

The Lord arranged for us to tour the Vatican with the great Margherita Capponi. While my wife and I were waiting in the line for Mass at St Peters Basilica, I began talking to a young man from USA who grew up in a small New England town where I attended prep school. We new many of the same people... More

Margherita is a wonderful tour guide that is passionate about the local history. She is a native Roman that really loves the city and sharing her vast knowledge of the city. We visited the Vatican and the Colosseum with her and she was very accommodating with our schedule and met us at the Colosseum early in the morning before our... More

We were recommended to use Margerita - what a blessing - try doing the coliseum and Vatican City all in 4 hours with a 11 year old, 8 year old and 4 year old. Try pitching your story to these kids to make it interesting and engaging and of course ensure no moaning from the kids. Well Margerita is a... More

Margherita Capponi was an INCREDIBLE TOUR GUIDE! She is most qualified and very well known at The Vatican. She has her Ph.D. In Archeology and she comes from a long lineage of Romans. What a pleasure it was to spend time with her. Having a tour guide with someone who not only knows Rome, but she LOVES Rome too. I... More

We had the good fortune of meeting Margherita by chance on our first trip to Rome and she totally made that experience mind blowing! So smart. So interesting. So friendly. The way she presented "Ancient Rome" to us was not like being in a classroom and her vast knowledge was so easy to absorb (there's TONS to absorb!). We'll never... More

Over the last four years Margherita Capponi Rome Guide has shown many of my friends and family the hidden treasures of Rome and the surrounding area. She is always on time waiting for you with a big smile and warm greeting. Her facts are not only interesting but told in a way that you are always wanting to hear more.... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
