We have toured Rome with our college-age kids twice with Rich in the past 2 years. Rich's immersion in his subject is obvious; his encyclopedic knowledge of history allows him to place the subjects within historical context. During both of our visits to Rome with Rich, we left with a much deeper understanding of the history, art and culture of... More

Rich was absolutely amazing for our tour of the Vatican. First and foremost - you go directly to the front of the line. That alone saves you tons of time. But that's just the tip of the iceberg! He is obviously extremely knowledgeable about his specialty, and you can tell from the instant you meet him. He takes time to... More

We booked tours with Rich from a recommendation of a friend. First off, he is originally from the same area we are, so that made for easy conversation. We had private tours of Ancient Rome, the Vatican, and Historical Rome, so it made our whole Rome experience more personal. At many stops along the way, Rich would offer to take... More

Rich took so much time to explain all the details of the vatican and its rich history. I couldn't recommend him higher. It was everything and more than I could have expected for the money. Really detailed and got us through all the long lines in a jiffy, and we were there in August!

Rich toured my husband and me around the city of Rome, ancient Rome, and the Vatican during our honeymoon in August of 2016 (a total of 3 days of tours!). Rich is extremely knowledgeable and super fun, and we really enjoyed how he kept the tour size smaller in comparison to many tours we saw that had 10+ people per... More

If you're visiting Rome for the first time, it is essential to have a tour guide!! Rich is awesome. We booked 3 tours with him: Historical, Ancient & the Vatican Museums. We learned so much in a short amount of time! It would have been impossible to navigate, learn the history and immerse ourselves in the culture of Rome without... More

We were blessed to have Rich as our tour guide for the first three of our seven day in Rome. We did the Ancient Rome, the Vatican Museums, and the Coliseum tours with Rich. One tour each day for ~ 3 hours each. Rich was born and raised in the U.S., so there was no language barrier with us traveling... More

My wife and I spent two days, three hours each day seeing the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, The Roman Forum and Vatican City at a fast pace with Rich. Yes, Rich does walk at a quick pace so put on your walking shoes but be ready for an informative educational experience that you will cary with you for the rest of... More

I need to first say that I am a critic by nature, so this review may sound critical, but I was very happy with the two tours we did with Rich (Vatican and Ancient Rome). The rest of this review is intended to help you understand what to expect. Vatican Tour As Rich pointed out at the beginning of the... More

Staying in Trevi

Neighborhood Profile
Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighborhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
