After extensive research on private guides in Rome we kept coming back to Marta based on reviews. We cannot express enough how happy we were with her as our guide over two days (Vatican and Ancient Rome). We learned and experienced so much more than we ever imagined!
Marta’s knowledge of history is absolutely remarkable! Her ability to share “surf through history” as she put it made our time educational and fun. We could have spent months with her and still not touched the depth of her knowledge of history. All of this without getting us bogged down and kept us moving to see so much during our time with her. On the tour she really looked out for us and made sure were navigated the crowds and other tour groups. We all connected with Marta and she was a major highlight of our time in Italy.
We appreciated how well she communicated in our planning and provided exact steps to get tickets in advance to maximize our time on each day of the tour. Her attention to detail and clear agenda made this one of the least stressful holidays our family has had.
We highly recommend Marta, you won’t regret spending the money to have a personal tour with her.

Our Rome experience was so enhanced by the time we spent with Marta. Recommend her X100…First day we arrived, we met for a walking tour in the Historical District, second day twe did a tour with her of the Vatican and finally our third day we did a tour was with her of the Colosseum/Forum.
Educational is an understatement. We have traveled and done many tours, but would say not many people have the depth of knowledge she has about what you are seeing at the moment, but also general questions. We really all enjoyed the learning, the tie in of history to present she made.
Professional. She communicated very well with us all along the way. We booked many months in advance and she helped us navigate the process of getting our tickets to the Pantheon, Vatican and the Colosseum. None of these felt as easy as our prior trip some 10+ years ago, so with her help we knew when and where to go for the tickets.
Personal. We flat out really liked her and connected to her. She was funny, kind, and caring. She took us under her wings and wanted us to have a great experience in Rome.

Marta is amazing, her knowledge of art and history is incredible and she is very impressive. She has lots of great stories that make it fun and help you to remember details of the incredible sites you are seeing. She was also very gracious in helping us understand the customs of Italy that had nothing to do with her tour, highly recommend Marta!

Marta was recommended by a friend as the best tour guide in Rome and she didn’t disappoint. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and available and she is not afraid to make sure her clients are not pushed around. She corresponds in a timely manner to plan the tour of your dreams. In our case we were visiting the Vatican the Saturday before Palm Sunday. I asked Marta about tickets to St. Peter’s Square on Palm Sunday. She said she would check and was able to secure tickets for us. During our tour on Saturday she provided us suggestions as to where to sit to get the best view of the procession and where the Pope would be passing. After Mass he passed within six feet of us…truly something we will never forget!!

This is the second time we used Marta and she was terrific once again. We came to Rome 5 years ago and she gave us a fantastic tour so we hired her again on our most recent trip. She is incredibly knowledgeable and keeps things very interesting and fresh. She was an expert at navigating the big crowds that day. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a more personalized experience.

It’s one thing to know the material, it’s a whole other skill to bring it to life. Marta was one of the best tour guides or, rather, teachers, I've ever had.
As an art enthusiast, history buff, and overall source of knowledge, she is top notch. Marta, thank you for giving our 7 yr-old a taste of the good things to come. Our tour of the Borghese Gallery was one of the highlights of our trip. We wish we could have taken you everywhere with us!

Just WOW! We visited the Forum/Colosseum and the Vatican with Marta on 2 different days in October. She was absolutely amazing. What an in-depth knowledge of all the places, people and artifacts. Her passion and enthusiasm absolutely brought the past to life. We learned so much! And so many great insights, from best views, to where to shelter from the sun for a discussion. Marta's depth of knowledge about Rome and its history was quite impressive. History buffs will enjoy her story-telling. She deepened our understanding and appreciation of Roman art, architecture, culture and history. She was also great at showing us how to navigate the streets of Rome, and giving us recommendations along the way on things we might enjoy. She can customize her tour to your needs and abilities.

Marta was amazing. Such a beautiful person to show us the Vatican. We even enjoyed lunch together after our tour. Should I ever be fortunate enough to travel to Rome again, Marta will be the first person I contact and the only guide I will use. Marta offers the best of the best when touring Rome!

A friend recommended Marta as a tour guide for our trip to Rome. As we had been to Rome before, we had specific sites that we wanted to revisit and new ones we had not yet seen. Marta was very responsive, and put together a tour agenda that met our requests. My husband, myself and our adult son spent an entire day with Marta, and she was very knowledgeable and personable. We would highly recommend Marta!
