Beware of this place-their ice cream/coffee is a bit below average-service is adequate but they hit you with inflated bill-for example ice cream is E2.50 but if you sit and have it it is E5-go somewhere else

We are a group of italian tourists (from Palermo, Siena and Trieste) who for desperation of a very hot day decided to sit in the first cafè scalabile: a huge mistake. The service was pretty low and the waiter looked very confused; we ordered (thanks God, only) a coffee and a "fresh" orange juice. The coffee was burnt and probably old, not expressed; the orange juice was the supermarket one you find in the juicebox, obviously not a clue of freshness. Best part was the bill, asked twice: 3 euros for the coffee and 6 euros for the juice, we were speechless. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

On our previous trip to Rome this place was our daily stop and we loved it, sadly this time we were in Rome for 2 full weeks and it is closed down.

Would help if the place opened. Was not located far from hotel so I thought I would try it out. Loaded up my google maps and off I went only to discover the place never opens. During my stay I walked past this place several time it just always seems to be closed.
