We used Rome 4 kids tours for 2 private tours in August. We specifically picked this company as they appeared to offer the greatest opportunity to personalize itinerary, as well as, some help in beating the crowds. Our first day we had a lovely, young guide. He was very young and a little nervous but he showed us around the Colosseum and the Forum and kept my teens engaged. He knew where we should stop and rest in the shade and knew what to see first to minimize wait times- which was one of the main reasons for using their private guide. However, he clearly had been give a script by the company and if we asked a question that wasn’t in line with his script, he was thrown off. The second trip we did a private tour for the “exclusive” access to the Vatican before it opens to the public. I believe we got there at 7am, we received several emails from the company saying we must be on time, so we were on time. Our tour guide was late and we still waited at least a half hour to get in. Before the tour, I had emailed the company and given them some things we were most interested in seeing there. When we met our guide, we again mentioned this to her. However, she also had a script to follow and ignored what we had requested. The guide was very sweet but her English was not that good. We often could not understand her. She tried hard but she seemed unprepared for the crowds at the Vatican. We had a 3 hour tour with her and after abt 2hours, 45min. She basically said “so you don’t need to see anymore do you?” While we didn’t have a bad time, this tour was incredibly expensive and we expected more. It was not the custom, personalized experience we were looking for.

I traveled to Rome with my 2 children (7&10yrs) for a quick introductory trip. We booked both the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill private kids tour/scavenger hunt and the private Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel tour/scavenger hunt. Our guide for the Colosseum tour was Tommaso, a smiley enthusiastic and patient young man who captured my children’s attention from the very beginning. He was able to use role play and imagination to take us all back to the Roman era and keep us entertained. We all learned a great amount and my children still speak fondly of him. For the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel ‘Divine race’ our guide was Antonella, patient, smiley and a walking enciclopedia! She was able to give us a clear and engaging tour encompassing all of the Vatican’s history. This tour is more challenging for a 7 year old boy, however thanks to Antonella’s expertise and intuition we were all able to appreciate the experience and learn a great deal. I greatly recommend booking a tour with Rime4kids as it has been a wonderful experience from booking all the way to the end. If possible ask for Tommaso and Antonella, you will be very happy!

We did the Heart of Rome by golf cart tour. I couldn't be happier with the service. Even in miserable rainy weather, Tommy (guide) and Marco (driver) were perfectly entertaining and informative. They read the girls' moods, who got cranky from being wet, and moved things along or distracted the girls as necessary. They were perfect for my 7 and 8 yr olds. This tour was more expensive than other tours, but I can't imagine trying to drag around children in bad weather and seeing all that we did without mom and dad also having a meltdown. It was perfect.

Thank you Tommy and Marco!

The Gladiator school was FANTASTIC! I highly recommend it for any boy ages 7 to 10 who love to be outdoors, move, jump, run and be active. But . . . they also have to love to learn. Mirco was an invested, highly skilled, prepared, and erudite teacher -- he made ancient Rome come alive. His gladiator skills were as top notch as his teaching skills. Kind but really tough, he was relatable yet authoritative. He made it easy for my grandson to approach this martial art. Now, he's hooked! That's all he wants to do!

We toured Berlin in a driving tour. As with our experience with Europe4Kids in Rome, this was an absolutely spectacular experience. Our guide Harald knew just about everything there is to know about Berlin, WW2, and the Cold War. Our teenagers are major history buffs, and Harald was able to adapt the tour to their level of knowledge while also keeping it light and fun enough for our 9 year old (who doesn’t love a trip to a chocolate shop mid tour??). The tour van was very comfortable, and our driver managed the itinerary seamlessly. The tours with E4K are without a doubt the best money we spend on our family vacation. I may have to plan our next trip based on where and when they have availability!

Our family of 5 enjoyed the Uffizi tour today and are so grateful to have booked this. All of our kids (9, 13 & 15) enjoyed the tour and we really felt that we were able to experience more of Florence and the city. Our guide Marco, was amazing, answering all our questions and sharing interesting stories behind the special painting on our tour. Thank you so much!!

We went on multiple tours through Europe4kids and Rome4kids - The Pompeii Adventure for families with kids with Fabrizio, Ancient Rome Scavenger Hunt withTommy, Divine Race Vatican Tour with Toni and Venice Mask Making for Kids with Charlotte. The Europe4Kids booking staff were always helpful and quick to respond and confirm bookings for us prior to and during our tavel.

The tours guides, Fabrizio, Toni and Tommy made the places come alive for the kids. They were all engaging and respectful to the kids, answered any and all questions and they kept the kids interested and engaged. They adjusted the tours when needed and also provided further information for us when we wanted a bit more detail. The Venice mask making was a last minute addition but well worth it for a hands on activity for the kids to craete thier own little peice of Venice and Charlotte was wonderful with them. I would highly recommend Europe4kids/Rome4kids and for us with a younger family (3,6 and 9) it allowed a more structured way to enjoy these locations.

We did a Greek gods mythology tour in Athens and it was amazing!!! We absolutely loved our guide (Effie), she stayed extra time with us in the museum and explained so many things to us. She also kept my 9 year old completely enthralled for almost 4 hours. She also helped us get the right tickets, navigate the COVID situation, gave us great eating suggestions and dealt with the younger girls slow pace. AMAZING tour!!!

This excursion to Pompeii was wonderful and enjoyed by our entire family (children aged 1, 6 and 10.).
They went out of their way to reschedule for us when the expected weather in Pompeii was quite rainy and windy and we requested to change dates, (the contract clearly stated that this wouldn’t be an option so we were so grateful they were willing to even consider) the day we switched to ended up being perfect and we were so lucky to be enjoying the trip on such a beautiful day!

Our driver picked us up from the apartment in Rome and was so kind, he made sure to stop when our children needed and made great timing. It was so nice to be able to leave things in the private car as we went on our day. After Pompeii he took us to lunch and then a side trip to hike Mt Vesuvius before bringing us back.

The only negative is when he arrived he was not informed to have car seats even though we had requested a booster and car seat when booking. I suggest verifying this before your trip. (This mixup could have been overlooked because we changed dates from our original day.) We had another option so did not inform the company and went on with our trip.
* Edited to add when they found out they were beyond remorseful and I am certain this won’t happen again! They really do have wonderful customer service and go out of their way to make your families trip perfect!

Our guide was very welcoming and made history so exciting and easy to understand. She did a great job of engaging our children! They enjoyed the scavenger hunt map and workbook to bring home. My 10 year old is really into history and had picked this adventure, she did a great job of bringing what he knows to life while also making it easy to understand and engaging for our five year old and my husband and I. She also made sure our youngest felt included and like one of the big kids.
We also did a side trip to Mt Vesuvius that I highly recommend, the views we’re breath taking!!!

We did four fantastic tours with Rome4Kids! Tomas did an amazing job connecting with my 10 and 11 year old boys and keeping them interested as we roamed around Rome on a golf cart. Valeria shared her love of mythology and Rome in the Capitoline museum. Antonella helped us navigate the Vatican museum while keeping the kids interested. Finally we had the amazing Viviana give us a tour of Pompeii.

At every step, the guides were kind, knowledgeable, and engaged with us and our kids. This is not the cheapest tour you can book but I knew it was worth it when we did a tour with another group and my 11 year old looked at me sadly and said that “this guide is no Tomas”. Touring with Katja and her team is like touring with your cool aunt or uncle. It made our vacation exceptional.
