Fiona was the best! We had a perfectly sized group of five people in our group, including myself and my parents. Meeting at Piazza Barberini was easy, and it was easy to find her there. We skipped on over to the Capuchin Crypts and learned quite a bit. Did you know that there is a Caravaggio in the monastery? Unfortunately, no pictures were allowed inside the museum portion nor the actual crypts, but this allowed us to really soak in the visuals. After seeing the crypts, we drove on over to the catacombs. We stopped right alongside the Appian way to learn a little bit about this ancient road, and the history of Rome's walls , the makeup of the outer portion of Rome. We went to the busiest, but better organized catacombs. Fiona handed us off to the Catacomb's tour guide, who took us down to the catacombs. When we toured the catacombs, our group was combined with other folks who spoke English and had paid for their own entry to the Catacomb. The climb up and down the stairs is not the easiest for mobility challenged folks, but it is worth it and manageable with time and patience. There was a bathroom facility at the catacombs. Afterwards, we were dropped back off in the city. Very well organized, and an interesting way to learn about Rome! Fiona was very helpful in giving us a lot of tips, information, and patiently answered all our questions.
