- Cassie HCalgary, Canada1,082 contributionsEight of us went here to celebrate the start of our European trip so six people were pretty jet lagged for a dinner starting at 8pm (my husband and I had been in Europe for a few days already). We had made reservations for the wine pairing dinner. I was not expecting it to be so busy. Despite warnings that everyone needed to be seated on time it didn’t seem to follow a schedule. I had been expecting someone guiding the restaurant as a whole but instead it was one waitress per table trying to shout to be heard. We had three people in our group who were not drinking wine (this was mentioned on the reservation) but they weren’t offered anything else to drink besides water. The food was good, especially the meatball, Cacio e Pepe, and tiramisu. All the wine was well selected. And I loved the art on the walls. I would go back as a wine fan but I probably would keep it to a group of other wine connoisseurs.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 23, 2024
- ViolsaRome, Italy118 contributionsExcellent selection of wines (non-trivial and with different goodies). The kitchen churns out (in addition to the inevitable exquisite bread basket) refined dishes with not bad combinations. Note of absolute merit - in these times - to the attention and kindness of the staff: fantastic! Prices well above average, justified by the value of raw materials and their use.Visited January 2025Traveled with friendsWritten February 26, 2025
- Tad34 contributionsWe attended a wine-tasting evening here on the last night of our honeymoon in Rome in December 2024. It was an exceptional evening. The room was very pretty, in the wine-cellar of the restaurant and the setting was intimate, with just five couples sitting around a large table (two other honeymooning couples and one on a birthday trip). The evening was run by a very nice Italian lady who spoke excellent English and was extremely knowledgeable about everything we ate and drank. The evening was structured around five different wines (one sparkling, one white, two red, one dessert), each paired with a particular dish. All the food and drink was delicious and we learned a great deal. I would recommend to anyone in Rome!Visited December 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten December 4, 2024
- Susan HHerndon, Virginia12 contributionsSo delicious. We had an antipasto of burrata with dried tomato pesto- off menu but our server told us about it when I asked about a burrata antipasto. Perfection with delicious bread. Then we shared a great Cacio e Pepe which was one of the best I’ve ever had. Secundi: meatballs that were tasty with perfect texture and another dish- a cod dish. I think the cod could have been cooked for a minute less for my taste, but the seasonings were nuanced and rich. Dolce: lemon cake with custard. The cake was yummy, albeit a little dry. Eating the custard along with it saved it and provided a great dessert. We tried to get reservations at Roscioli, but could not. The website recommended here, owned by the same people but not all of the same menu items . We were not disappointed. Ate at a long table that was fun and great atmosphere. Wonderful and helpful servers. Good wine list! Highly recommend.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 25, 2024
- Mary I86 contributionsWe really enjoyed our dinner here. Although "instructive," especially about wines, the atmosphere was lively, the staff friendly, and the food memorable. We had several different glasses of wine without knowing the prices, but when the bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find it all was a good value. We hope to eat here again!Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 9, 2024
- William W3 contributionsThis is a spin off of the very best restaurant in Rome, much simpler menu but an equally superb wine list. Katerina who looked after us was exceptional, she seemed to know a story of every wine on the very long list, and she didn’t stop all night. Food was delicious, don’t miss the selection of local cold meats and cheese. Make sure you make a reservation.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 12, 2024
- SebsdadBirmingham, United Kingdom85 contributionsWe did the 8pm food and wine tasting and I can easily recommend it. The description of each wine was really interesting without being at all pretentious and the food pairings were perfect. I have already recommended this to several of my friends and will continue to do so. To sit in a wine cellar, sharing delicious wines, food and conversation with like-minded strangers can only be a good thing.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 22, 2024
- jimkellsterBlue Ridge, Georgia145 contributionsThe cooking class was so much fun. Lily and Marlose were so organized and kept everyone engaged and focused in a good way. The best part was that the dishes were not complicated and were definitely meals to be enjoyed when returning to the US. In addition to the food, the wine pairings were exceptional and there was no shortage of wine if you preferred more. Our sommelier nailed the food and wine perfectly. There was also plenty of time to socialize with the rest of the group. We had folks, not only others from the US but also from Mexico and Australia, so it was great to learn more about their cooking customs and homelands. I would highly recommend this experience.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 12, 2024

- cindyandkids19 contributionsWe attended a Wine Tasting event at Rimessa Riscioli and had a wonderful experience. The sommelier provided great information about the local wines we tasted, and they were paired perfectly with great tasting food. I was not expecting to feel "full" but it was literally a complete dinner. We lucked out and had a very friendly group and made some great connections, which was a bonus to the event. I highly recommend this Wine Tasting event!Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 11, 2024

I booked the wine tasting dinner online in advance not knowing what to expect. This is a brilliant group experience. The sommelier was highly knowledgeable and engaging. We enjoyed all of the food, the Cacio e Pepe was our favourite. Highly recommend this experience for a fun different evening in Rome and we felt the price was very reasonable for the 5pm sitting.make sure you come hungry! there are 8 courses which were deceptively filling. We are glad we booked the earlier sitting as by the time we were leaving the restaurant it was becoming louder and it would have been more difficult to listen to all of the wine explanations.

I have made two reservations in Rimessa Roscioli well in advance - one for a cooking class and three days later for a dinner with my family.
The cooking class was great and very entertaining and instructive.
For the dinner the waiter just offered us a table outside on a day with heavy rain, heavy winds and temperatures of 13 degrees Celsius despite our reservation and a restaurant with merely half of the tables being occupied.
Although there was some rain protection on the outside the weather conditions have been far from being acceptable and we have left the restaurant before ordering.
Not sure whether this was due to our 3 kids or some other reason - this experience could not have been worse.
Summing up 5 stars for the cooking class and -5 stars for the dinner reservation lead to 0 stars for the overall experience. Since 0 stars do not seem to be possible I give 1 star and will never visit Rimessa Roscioli again.

Let me start by saying that I love this place, the cuisine is decidedly above average and the wine list is very rich, detailed and above all very refined and selected. Obviously all this clashes with my assessment which I care about and is influenced EXCLUSIVELY by a final episode linked to the bill which is decidedly not up to the standard of the venue and the professionalism it wants to express. I declare that I expressly wanted to assign 2/5 to highlight the matter and highlight the matter in the eyes of the owners with the hope that it will never happen again.
I had bought a case of Rose champagne through a purchasing group managed by the venue which I decided to pick up one evening during a dinner there with a friend. Upon my arrival I ask to be able to drink one of the 6 bottles, which is granted to me on the premise of charging me the "corkage fee" (a figure not communicated). When it's time to uncork and serve, a large amount of foam starts to come out of the bottle which is difficult to tame. Which, according to the sommelier, never happens (the bottle had been chilled a little in the blast chiller). In the end, after using some napkins and asking us to move to clean the table (we declined but a "small" mess had still been made!), we finish dinner. At the time of the bill we find €20 for "corkage fees". A decidedly inelegant gesture and very inappropriate in my opinion for the profile that the place wants to maintain. To be honest, we were offered a refund but the issue is not the €20; the problem is that I really find it hard to believe that the situation was not properly assessed and we therefore did not behave accordingly. The gesture of asking for a "right" for a service so spectacularly below expectations is inelegant to say the least.

I am quite embarrassed by the reviews present, at this point my hypotheses are three: 1 they are fake 2 social media have destroyed everything in restaurants 3 those who are enthusiastic go shopping in discount stores
My experience was not at all satisfactory, I went to this place following the advice of a colleague, we didn't go there; For dinner two of us had:
- a first course (which does not deserve comments) Fusilloni, mussels, yellow pacchetella and lemongrass
- a second course (around enough) Beef meatballs, tomato and seasoned ricotta
- a dessert (good but not excellent) Tiramisu
All accompanied by two glasses of wine (after the over 315 labels tasted I must say that those proposed were not excellent, Vermentino di Sardegna and Malvasia Umbra) and a third proposed with dessert which, after having asked how it went and having shown the incomplete satisfaction in the most appropriate way possible, I thought that the two sips of moscato were offered but instead NO!
All for €72.50, which could have been worth it taking into account the location a stone's throw from the Tiber and behind the Ministry of Grace and Justice, but for the products on offer we are absolutely not there!
I believe that this, like many other places, have based their business on foreign tourists who have a bit of money and who base their choices on what is most popular on social media.
Part of the very friendly and professional staff, the sommelier with the gesture of the moscato after asking how it went lost several points of appreciation
The place inside is cute, pantry style, the lights are excellent, the exterior is like having lunch in a car park.
Obviously I wouldn't go back!

We had a lovely meal here. We choose the €75 tasting menu, which included wine pairings. All 6 courses were unusual and delicious, with very interesting wine choices. Our waitress did a great job of introducing each dish and accompanying wines.
All in all, a very entertaining evening. We would certainly book to come back when next in Rome.

My brother and I scheduled an afternoon cooking class in English and were not disappointed in the slightest. Lily was absolutely wonderful as an instructor and somewhat tailored the experience to address questions that we had about traditional Roman cooking. She was so pleasant and approachable throughout providing explanations of what we were doing, etc.
Marloes was our sommelier and was incredibly knowledgable and also so friendly. Wine can be intimidating in general, and I'm more a "drink what I like" rather than going off names/vineyards, and she was not snobby about this at all. The wine tastings all came with explanations and demonstration on a map regarding their origin, which I find very helpful as I am a visual learner.
I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this entire experience. The food was wonderful, the wines all rather good (some I liked more than others, but this is subjective), and the staff just made this class worth attending.
When I return to Rome at about the end of the year, I will definitely return - given the options to do a wine tasting, cooking demonstration, or full on class, I do not anticipate I will be disappointed! I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys food and wine, and who might be looking at a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle of Rome.

What a fantastic afternoon we had with Chef Lily! We decided to book the cookery course due to the heavy rain which was due, and this was the best decision of the holiday!
We were welcomed by the friendly team at Rimessa Roscioli and made to feel at home straight away. During our three hour session we made three pasta dishes, meatballs and tiramisu. Lily was fantastic in accommodating my lactose intolerance and adapted each dish as required.
We loved making each course from scratch, especially the pasta making - my husband, who is a complete novice feels that even he could have a go at recreating the tasty meals at home.
During our tasting, we also enjoyed various wines to accompany our food. The sommelier was very knowledgeable in the wines we sampled and educated us on the grape, region and blend of each wine.
If you are looking to do something a bit different on a trip to Rome I would thoroughly recommend this. Delicious food, great hospitality and but most importantly culinary skills that can used in the future.
Thank you so much for a fabulous afternoon - definitely a highlight of our trip!

The food was very good and the service was friendly. However, what would have been an overall excellent meal was marred by the waiter asking for a tip (there are preset amounts suggested on the credit card machine) and standing there to see if I entered a tip into the credit machine. It is the only restaurant on our trip that did this and it is clear they get a lot of tourists and want to take advantage of them. In Italy, tipping is not normal except for rounding up or giving a few euros in a nicer restaurant. It’s unfortunate that such good cooking is ruined by greed.

having been referred to this restaurant from its sister restaurant a few blocks over, we were so thrilled and appreciative that they were able to seat us on a Saturday night without a reservation! From the moment we arrived everyone was lovely and friendly, and so helpful with guiding us through the meal and the wine choices. Matteo, the sommelier, was knowledgeable, charming, and so enthusiastic! The beef tartare and hen salad, as starters were bonissimo. The lamb Ragu pasta and tortellini in broth were perfectly balanced and our second dish of meatballs was tasty and filling. There was endless bread to start the meal and help mop up the sauces and finish cleaning our plates, as is our family tradition. For dessert, olive oil cake was light and tasty, and the tiramisu was dreamy… What a wonderful 20th birthday celebration for our twins. We will definitely be visiting their Soho, New York location opening soon! Looking forward to seeing Matteo there as well on his trip!!

Having attended various wine tastings in various cities can honestly say this was the best one we’ve been to.
Our Sommelier was extremely knowledgeable, demonstrated a genuine understanding and enthusiasm for the wines, gave us background information on the vineyards as well as detailed descriptions of the wines themselves.
The menu was also very good.

Not that it matters, but just curious, how far is the restaurant from Gemme Di Roma, Via Gaeta 64, Central Station 00185, Rome? Thanks.

Hi Jill,
Yes, we are also a restaurant! Just book online with us using the online form for the ‘restaurant or tasting bar’ and you can dine instead of doing a pairing menu. We have nearly 75 wines by the glass, including premium wines poured with Coravin like Gaja and Sassicaia, and a seasonally changing menu based mainly on traditional Roman and Italian cuisine with top quality selections similar our other location, Salumeria Roscioli. A presto!
