Elizabeth's daughter, Sophie, gave us the tour. She was very engaging and knowledgeable. Our tour was more expensive than the typical group tour but it was just for us, and was semi-customized for us. Besides a general orientation, we were mostly interested in Sophie’s recommendations for food sources and restaurants in the neighborhood since we were in town for 3... More

This November, my wife and I joined a small group for a week long food tour of Rome. Elizabeth Minchilli was our host, assisted by her daughter Sophie. The tour even included a lovely apartment in the Monti neighborhood. Elizabeth and Sophie took us to some of their favorite vendors and restaurants, all of which were fantastic. A special highlight... More

Thanks so much for the great review! Although it seems like it was a long time ago (really only a few weeks!) I love seeing all the photographs you took while you were here on FB. I I hope you get a chance to come and join us again in the future. Maybe next time Umbria?! x,Elizabeth More

I had planned this trip for me and our adult daughter to celebrate a big birthday of mine. It was the trip of a lifetime (though I'm hoping for a repeat or three-peat). Having read Elizabeth's blog for more than a year, and invariably become hungry, envious and full of wanderlust, I chose her week-long food tour of Rome as... More

Sophie, Elizabeth's daughter, gave us the market tour. She is passionate about food and it is obvious she is a true local. We enjoyed her insights and stories and felt that we saw things and tasted items only someone from the area would be aware of. Her responsiveness and follow-up both prior to booking and post tour are excellent. She... More

I was one of seven intrepid foodies under Elizabeth's leadership this November. We cooked, we shopped, we walked, we ate in local, wonderful restaurants AND we took a day trip to Orvieto to a goat farm for cheese, a local winery for lovely wines and a very typical trattoria, not to mention the breathtaking church. Elizabeth also planned lots of... More

You are living in an apartment in the beautiful neighborhood of Monti...you are whisked away to all kinds of restaurants, bars and markets...most of which you would NEVER have gone to as a regular tourist. This is a tour of Rome that you can't get from anyone else. I felt privileged to be part of this small group! Elizabeth, while... More

This was a wonderful week with Elizabeth Minchilli. She introduced us to Rome, shared her knowledge of Roman cuisine, took us to her favorite shops and taught us how to eat and drink like an Italian. One of the highlights was lunch and a tour of the American Academy in Rome with which she is affiliated. Pizza bianca from Forno... More

Elizabeth is an absolutely charming and wonderful guide to all things Roman, but especially food and restaurants. My husband, son and I spent a delightful 4 1/2 hours eating our way through the Compo Di Fiori and the Jewish ghetto in Rome, and we felt like we were in heaven! Amazing cheeses, meats, pastas and gelatos, one better than the... More

We met Elizabeth by the fountain in Piazza dei Madonna in Monti. I had been following her on snapchat and instagram for a while before meeting her, so I recognized her right away. We sat in a nearby cafe so she could do a little intro of how she ended up in Rome and came to know so much about... More

With very short notice, Elizabeth arranged for her daughter Sophie to take us on a walking tour of the highlights of Trastevere. What a delight! Sophie was so friendly and the places we visited were amazing. Pizza, cookies, suppli, cheese and gelato (who'd have thought 'rice' ice-cream would be gorgeous!) - all before lunchtime :-) I would definitely plan another... More
