The walking tour is a great way to be introduced to rome if you are feeling overwhelmed or not knowing where to get started. It really gets you started on your trip amd gives you an idea of where you might want to go next. The morning tour was a great orientation.

In the past I have been on many free walking tours (Budapest, Seville, Malaga, Stockholm, Amsterdam ...) and I have always been extremely satisfied with my experience. The tour guides really made effort, were very humourous and knew how to make people amazed. However this one tour in particular was by far the worst I have experienced. The tour guide was 15 minutes late, was rather hard to understand and the entire time it felt like they cannot wait we finish so they can go back home. They made no effort to answer my questions, rushed by many amazing buildings and, in contrast to other tour guides I have had experience with, they reminded me of my rather boring history teacher. Rome as a city has so so so much to offer that is just sad how someone can speak of it so monotonously ...

Response from doristeatour, Responsabile reception at Rome Free Walking Tour

We are very sorry that you did not enjoy our tour. But we can't please everyone of course! However many people like us, as we have more than 2000 positive reviews. Anyway next time, even if you don't like the tour after listening to the tour guide for 2 hours it would be nice to say hello and thank the guide before leaving and not like you did, as you left the group before the last stop without saying anything ... This is very unpleasant! And... the guide you had is the same one that received many 4/5 point reviews before yours. That morning the guide was late due to traffic due to an accident but the office sent a message to all participants to warn them and apologize for the inconvenience. In any case, thank you anyway for the review and for taking part in our tour ... As we said ... we can't please everyone !! All the Best Rfwt

We did this tour on Wednesday 27/10/21 at 10am.. although the lady who conducted the tour was rude and dismissive when we tried to speak to her.. we enjoyed seeing the main sites of Rome and learning abit about the history.

I would highly recommend a free walking tour around Rome to anyone! Our guide - Gulia - was very passionate and knowledgeable. I learned so much about Rome's history as well as places just worth visiting when in the city e.g. which coffeeshops to visit! ( Saint Eustachio for espresso & La casa del coffee for granita :)) ) Thank you so much for the opportunity to see Rome in such an amazing way! Definitely going back!
