How many years is this important place going to be under wraps? You can read a bit about it on the fence & boards outside but that is it. Built in 28BC by and for Augustus, it was due to be opened to the public...More
This attraction was on the top of my list and the internet said restoration would be completed by April. It’s still fenced in and tourists can’t go in. I was disappointed because I wanted to see the Monument Augustus had planned for himself after he...More

The mausoleum was being redone, I was there a few months ago and doubt if they have made major progress on it. Two sides had fences that covered up all but the top. If you walk around it, there is a way to walk into another building and come out on a patio that allows you to see into the entrance.
