Our son and his wife had done this tour a couple of years ago and recommended it as a good way to learn about Italian food and see the city with a knowledgeable guide. Marloes, our guide, was lovely and passionate about food and wine. She spent about 3 1/2 hrs guiding us first for antipasto in the Jewish Quarter, then for pizza, pasta and gelato at different restaurants.

We spent a day with Marloes and Vinicultural Tours. Every aspect of the day was carefully planned and executed. We visited two wineries with excellent representations of the local grape varietal - cesanese. The wineries were small producers with a focus on quality (vs quantity) wine. We were able to taste different respresenations including younger vintages, aged wines, oaked and unoaked. We purchased wine from the second winery and would have bought more if we could have easily transported it home. Following our tastings we went to a restaurant to have a typical Italian lunch. Everything was delicious. Marloes was an excellent sommelier that accompanied us on the tour and educated us about the region, the wineries and wine in general. Her passion for her subject was evident. We asked Marloes many questions and she fielded them with grace. Her knowledge is extensive. I highly recommend this company for your visit to Rome.

We started in the Jewish Getto and ended in the historic part of Rome with food, wine and history. Our guide was very knowledgable and fun. Her parents were on the tour with us. We ate artichokes in the Jewish Getto, Pizza at Emma's and ended with some pasta and great wine in a part of the Historical Rome. Well worth the money. I recommend this.

We had a phenomenal tour with Vinicultural tours. Our guide, Marloes, picked us up right on time outside of our hotel. We were the only three on the tour. We stopped at two wineries and we got a tour of each. We even got to meet the winery resident cat at the first place, which was of course a highlight to me. The wineries were small "mom and pop" operation and the owners were very friendly. We do not speak Italian at all, so we would not have been able to visit these places without our wonderful guide. We stopped in a small picturesque little town in the hills for lunch. Marloes took some general guidance from the group then ordered for us all. The food was of course fantastic. She made sure that there were enough vegetarian options for me. All in all, it was a great day in wine country. I'm glad we opted to go on this tour because it was much more off the beaten path than going to Tuscany. I now have a new found appreciation for Cesanese! You can tell that Marloes is very knowledgable and passionate about the food and wine industry in Italy. She is a bottomless pit of knowledge :)
