Address
Neighborhood: Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

We tried just the marrons glaces which was of great quality. The service however was not so good. The sales lady was not so nice, and told us she can't give us any box unless we buy at least 12 pieces (~22 euro).

Looking at the chocolates we decided to pass on them.

If you like marrons glaces this shop is a must buy n Rome. The only place I know you can buy them all year around. Great quality and affordable prices. Try the “pieces” same taste much cheaper.

Dropped by for some marrons glaces (traditional and chocolate covered) as well as some other sweets. Pretty little shop and pleasant service.

Read reviews and expected great things, could smell the chocolate as soon as walking in through the door. The woman who served us wasn't very helpful, quite stuck up! We got a small box of about 8 different chocolates and a few marron glace and paid 25 Euros! I have never had marron glace before, didn't like them, don't see what the hype is all about they were like a mushy mouth full of sugar, took rest home for sister who spat it out! YUK!! The chocolates were nothing special either, I love my chocolate especially dark, and I've had soooo much better from high street chain in UK! Overrated, Overpriced, but look good! lol

I wanted to give some marrons glaces as a gift, and the online search pointed out Giuliani to me as the best in Rome. It is a small shop almost from another era, as the extreme patience and kindness of the staff seemed to me to be from another era, in particular Mrs Alberta, who served me. Not knowing their products, I asked her to do a taste test, a request accepted with the heavenly tasting of the classic marron glace and the one covered in dark chocolate..... very high quality. The gift box packaging is very beautiful, which upon opening reveals these authentic jewels! Obviously you pay for quality. They also produce all kinds of chocolates, fruit jellies and, it seems, a magnificent montblanc, which I reserve the right to try at the next opportunity.

Unfortunately, Giuliani's marron glaces are no longer what they used to be: taken on more than one occasion during these Christmas holidays, they were always floury and not creamy, as they once were, and they look like recomposed browns. Quality clearly expired in the face of ever-increasing prices.

I just returned a nougat expiring in February 2023. The sales assistant told me "they put the label wrong" and then she was trying to peel it off with her finger to replace it 😳😳😳😳 Maybe she thought she was dealing with a not very good person intelligent. Obviously here no more orders for refreshments and other things.
