When in Trastesvere (and don't miss that), this is a nice walk up to the Piazzale. There are many vistas overlooking Rome and a lovely fountain on the way.

Located at the top of Janiculum Hill, Piazzale Garibaldi is often overlooked, set apart from the Vatican and major archaeological attractions around Palatine and Aventine. This is a shame because once you've made the climb, you are rewarded with a stunning eastward view across Rome...More

Worth visiting if only for the views over the city - I'd suggest walking up through Trastevere which is a really interesting area with lots of cafes, restaurants and quirky arty shops. From there it's a steep climb up the hill and into the park...More

It is a beautiful walk high above the City of Rome and the Botanical Gardens. Great for a relaxing afternoon.

Get up there from Trastevere. Don't take a taxi, you'll miss half the wonders on the way. It's a pretty steep climb, and it will seem longer than it really is, but it's worth it. All of it. Oh, and, by the way, that building...More

If you walk from piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere it should take you about 25 minutes. It's very do-able BUT it is a winding road. There is a spectacular fountain before you enter the piazza with great views but much better views from the piazza....More

This is a hidden Gem in Rome which is well worth the visit. The views of Rome are jaw dropping. It is a fair walk to get there but worth it

The square is dedicated to Garibaldi and honors the battle in 1849, at the Janiculum hill, between his forces and French troops, fighting to defend the revolutionary Roman Republic against the restoration of the temporal power of the Pope over Rome. The best time to...More

This place is excellent, the highest part of Rome and in an edge, this means you are able to see all Rome in here while eating a Gelatto and seeing your kids (if you have) playing and runing around this place, it's pretty Romantic and...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
