We loved this tour! The tour felt like you truly were part of the Italian neighborhood. All the stops were great, it was like a six-course dinner with each course in a different restaurant. Our tour guide, Sarah, did an amazing job of giving us interesting facts about the neighborhood and each location. The variety of food and drink was... More

Our guide, Francesco, could not have been more congenial as he led us through the streets, and history, of Trastevere. We went to some extraordinary places and sampled wonderful food, had a sit-down dinner, and wrapped things up with some seriously delicious gelato! Come hungry and be prepared for a great time!

We are a couple and we took the Testaccio Super Stroll night tour. We had a great time, the tour gives you an opportunity to learn about the food your eating, how it is maid, what's unique about the local cousin and the history of the food and the neighborhood. Plus you get a complete list of places to go... More

My wife and I and three other couples recently went on the Trastevere Twilight Tour. Roger was our tour guide. Originally from Mexico, Roger has lived in Rome for 10 years. He spoke good English. We went to 7 different locations, all of them unique and what I would consider "out of the way". In fact, one of the locations,... More

I went on the Twilight Trastevere food tour and was disappointed. Our guide was fantastic. She was fun and knowledgeable. The problem was that Eating Italy had many tours running the night of our tour (Friday night.) We took the 5:45 pm tour and were rushed through all of our tastings to make room for the 7:00 pm tour. We... More

We always try to do a food tour in a city we have not visited before as you see and learn so much. We chose the Trastevere Twilight Tour in Rome and were not disappointed. We loved the area which was buzzing with people out enjoying themselves. We visited nine establishments, each very different and with its own history, as... More

This was a fantastic experience that helped us to get off the beaten path and try things we never would have discovered otherwise. Jasmine was a great guide, full of interesting information and enthusiasm that enriched the experience--she even took the time to share a great restaurant for us to try in our neighborhood. We were given a list of... More

When we first booked this class, my wife and I felt this would be a nice distraction from the usual museum and church tours. How wrong we were because this class turned out to be one of the highlights of our European vacation. Nonna was amazing, our guide was entertaining and helpful and the people in our class were a... We came to Rome for the day as we were in port at Civitavecchia and were able to work with the timings of this tour. We opted for the Daylight Trastevere tour and our guide, Jasmine, was so friendly, outgoing and made the whole experience informative on that cold wet December day. We visited a wide range of eateries and... More

We weren't really sure what to expect here and thought it seemed a little pricey. Were we wrong. This was one of the most memorable things we have done on vacation in recent years. Jasmine was a wonderful, informative, effusive tour guide, and the Testavere twilight tour was simply outstanding. The food was superlative, but Jasmine's enthusiasm and her personal... More

Staying in Testaccio

Neighborhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighborhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
