Gianluca was awesome and Trastevere was a fun little section that showed itself to be different from most of the rest of Rome. It's a great tour that makes you feel part of the neighborhood.

We took the Taste of Testaccio Food Tour and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We took the advice of others and did the tour on one of our first days in Italy. I would also recommend doing so because you learn what to look out for, how to order, etc. Our tour guide was amazing and... More

This tour was our favorite part of Rome. Chiara, our guide, was absolutely wonderful and engaging. We tried an array of different food and everything was so delicious. Even our kids said it was their favorite part of our trip! Thanks Chiara, and thanks, Eating Italy!

We went on the evening tour which made for a beautiful setting + perfect for dinner. Eric was an amazing tour guide and really made the experience fun, energetic, and educational. His knowledge and wit were enjoyed by all. The area was so interesting and beautiful and the selection of restaurants and shops were perfect with a great variety. All... More

We had a great time n this tour learning about the local cuisine. Our guide, Chiara, did a great job of pacing out tastings and keeping the entire group engaged. Highly recommended to take this tour, will be doing another on our next trip.

It was indeed an excellent tour and a great experience with my family members visiting here for the first time from Malaysia. My wife Ruth, daughter Jessica, hubby Brandon and son Isaac were amazed to see the other part of the world. We enjoyed the tour. We were blessed to have visited the Vatican City Rome and had a General... More

What can I say? This tour was made for me. As a chef, I'm sure others on the tour learned more than I did, but there was still a lot of interesting information. The guide was just fine, and all the foods we sampled were above average. You can get full, so plan accordingly. It's not so much trying things... More

We did the Twilight Trastevere tour on our last day in Rome and my only regret was that we didn't do it at the beginning of our trip. I really loved the Trastevere area and would have loved to have gone back as it is a neat neighbourhood with a lot of fantastic restaurants. Sarah was our tour guide. She... More

Staying in Testaccio

Neighborhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighborhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
