Francesco’s Taste of Testaccio tour was nothing short of amazing. In fact, we ended up staying in the neighborhood for several hours after the tour, revisiting some of the stops and finding a few new ones. And, we’ll likely be back again tomorrow! Highly recommended.

Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio,
an ancient Roman port and former working class

give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the

You can, but I'm not sure you will feel comfortable. The tour lasts about 4 hours, and there is a lot of walking to do and "boring" adult stuff like wine and food tasting. I am sure that all of the places you visit will... More

Train:Citivecchia to Testaccio / Trastevere + opinions. (3 Replies)
Hello All! Since we have already been to the main attractions in Rome several years ago, we are looking to do something different when we dock in Citivecchia. We thought of doing a food tour, as this does interest us. Does anyone have one that they would highly recommend? I looked at "Eating Italy Food Tours", and it received excellent reviews here, so this is what we are going with as of now. Our ship (Allure) is docked from 7am to 8pm. Testaccio tour is at 10:30am or 11:15am. ...More

Testaccio and Trastevere are quarters, not towns. The simplest way to go into Rome is the regional train from Civitavecchia. To Testaccio the best option is getting off at Roma Ostiense, from there you can walk or take a bus (the 83 to Via Zabaglia or the 280 to Via Marmorata). To Trastevere the best train station to get off is Roma Trastevere, but it is less close to the quarter of the same name than one may think. From the station you can take the tram - at present replaced by a bus - 8...More

Eating Italy Food Tour (1 Replies)
We just came back from a great fun food tour called Eating Italy. We are so full. Our guide, Beau, was terrific. It rained so hard through most of the tour, but she kept us entertained and got us quickly into restaurants and food stores where we dried off and ate again. Highly recommend this tour in Rome. Cooking class recommendations in November (6 Replies)
I will be traveling to Rome for 6 nights in November and would love any suggestions on cooking classes for me and a few of my travel buddies. I've done a bit of research and found Eating Italy Food Tours cooking classes, as well as a few individual chefs that offer classes, but would love any input you may have! I would love to do some shopping at a local market, and prepare the food that was purchased or possibly learn to make pasta, but I'm open to anything! Thank you in advance.
