Our experience here was nothing short of amazing. We walked past one night and stood outside looking at the wonderful chocolates. The owner invited us inside and was very gracious in speaking English when he realised we didn't speak Italian and offered us a chocolate to taste. We were on our way to dinner so didn't buy any, but came back the next day to make our purchase. The man and female salesperson welcomed us back with friendly smiles. Again the offered us a taste of chocolate, then helped us to select a range of chocolates which they wrapped for us. We couldn't have asked for a friendlier experience. The chocolates were great and the service was fantastic! Five stars.

Right below our rental apartment (near the Vatican) is this wonderful "Cioccolateria". We would walk by and think: this place must be too expensive for us to buy chocolates from! And each time as we walk by, the blonde lady salesperson would nod and smile. Finally, one day close to the end of our one month stay, we went in and actually picked out enough to fill a medium box. It came to 20 Euro. Not bad!? And once you bite into one of them - you'll think, "Wow!" not too expensive at all for this kind of quality!! Unfortunately, we left Rome soon afterwards.
