Wow. We had such a great guide. We booked the underground tour and we spent 1 and half hours covering almost every inch of the coliseum. She was so informative and really took time to answer questions. On the other hand, we combined the tour with the Forum tour. This was very disappointing. We spent all of our time up... More

My wife and I were lucky to go on the Night Tour of the Coliseum with City Tours in Rome. This is a must, the tour is in small groups of 20 and runs over nearly 3 hours. You start up near Tragen Column and make your way past the Forum to the Coliseum, where you enter at night (... More

First a new rule no liquids allowed but there are drinking water fountains like the ones around the city. I'd definitely go on a skip the line underground tour which you also go two levels above any else (top available level) the tour includes a Coliseum historian that takes you around. I did the Coliseum and forum tour which is... More

Our guide, Emilia, was excellent, her knowledge of both the Coluseum and Forum area brought the places alive to us. There was quite a lot of walking and it was very hot but Emilia stopped the group in the... More

A place for everyone as a MUST SEE - impressive, beautiful, breathtaking!!!! To avoid too much queing pick a time late afternoon - and an xtra benefit is lower temperatures. To buy tickets only use the official places!!! Otherwise you risk loosing both money and time.

It was my third time to Rome and the first one with kids (and a guide). The guided tour was bot entertaining for the kids and very pleasant for us too. I learned much more with a guided tour that by just walking though the coliseum, fora romano and palatino, like I did with the past. It is more expensive,... More

We booked a tour for the Coliseum with Roman Guy. Our guide was Maria Rosario. She was wonderful!!! She loves her job and is incredibly knowledgeable about all Roman history, we learned so much from her!

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets.
