I had read reviews before booking this tour. We were travelling to Rome for a cruise out of Civitavecchia and we came a day early to experience Rome. We picked this because it was active and fun and we could see the best parts of Rome in one day. HIGHLY recommended! We had Musa as our guide for Rome "outside".... More

We have done several bike tours and this one was rates highly recommended. We were fortunate ( for us at least ) that there were only the 4 of us - my husband and two of our adult children. As Rome had turned up the heat we were glad to have chosen the evening tour. Also having been to Rome... More

We took our two toddlers (aged 2 and 3) on a sunset ride. Glenn was so accommodating even crossing Rome to collect a trailer for the kids. As a result we were certainly on Italian time, starting an hour later, but that meant it was cooler and less busy, so we didn't mind. We saw all the secret bits of... More

Our afternoon tour with Michele was a magical way to see Rome. The kids declared it the best way to see a city. The Red Bicycle is small and friendly. Our group was small which was perfect for us and Michele our guide was very knowledgable. He was willing to make small modifications to our route to show us things... More

We did the tour July 9, as a family of 3 (one 11 y-old boy). Glenn was our guide and he was absolutely fantastic. Knows the city well, well versed in its history, he took us to spots that are well-know (the major piazzas, the Knights of Malta Keyhole, etc) but also at some off the beaten path spots (Rome's... Renting a bicylce was simple and easy. The bicycles were in great condition and easy to ride. They offer also tours, which we however didn't go for. Instead we cycled our own tour from Colosseum and along river Tiber to Vatican City and back. Run by a South African making conversation very easy.

Very informal, didn't get caught up in traffic jams, got up close to places of interest, great way to see this beautiful city with a young family. Very engaging and fun .

We wanted our family of 5 to have an experience outside of Rome to view the countryside and get to know the culture up close. The bike tour was a perfect opportunity to get out of the city in an easy and enjoyable manner. Our guide Moussa was awesome! He took our small group of 6 into the countryside along... More

Musa was our lovely guide and we headed out of Rome down the old Appian way stopping at the catacombs and other historical sites along the way. Then we visited a market and had a picnic. It was about 5 hours in searingly hot weather but there were plenty of water stops and we biked reasonably slowly. You don't have... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
