We met at the bicycle shop in a side street by the Colosseum. We were lucky to have a private tour (just 2 of us) as no one else was booked on. We took the 9:30am trip, lasting 4 hours. The trip was fantastic! We visited loads of sights, had chance to hear about the history of the city and... More

They give a nice tour, but seemed to be off on Sunday. I scheduled the all day tour which included Rome, and the Appian way. The tour leader wasn't sure if the Pope was in town, even though we stopped at the Vatican, he was and it would have been nice to time the tour around his Sunday blessing, just... More

This was by far one of the most amazing parts of our trip. Our guide, Leonardo, was so knowledgeable and we covered so much ground in 3 hours. We would stop at each site and we got to visit all the main places like the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Forum, Jewish Ghetto, etc. We also learned the history of... More

A most relaxing fun day cycling around Rome with my 15 year old son. Very informative. Excellent company will use them again on our return.

Absolutely brilliant 3hours that felt like 30min. Leonardo was excellent, knowledgable and so passionate about his city. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended!

Our Ancient Appian Way bike tour was amazing! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable not only about Rome and all the sites we stopped at along the way, but also about switching gears on uphills, downhills, etc. He taught us everything you could possibly want to know about the sites along the way. The stop at the Catacombs was neat as... More

Had a great ride with the company. Glenn was very responsive in communicating with me over email, and Leonardo was a great person with whom to cycle - making sure that I never felt rushed or over-extended, pointing out both landmarks and obstacles, and allowing me to draft for 80k's!

This is the second tour I've taken with the Red Bicycle Tour and it did not disappoint! This time I was traveling with my son (age 18) and daughter (age 16) and we took the Sunset Tour rather than the morning tour. Our guide Leonardo was truly excellent - his exposition on Roman history, kind hearted manner and sense of... More

Our guide Leonardo made the trip! A Roman local, his story-telling and passion for history made the tour come alive. Not great tourists at heart, we enjoyed getting away from the crowds and exploring the city from a different angle. After doing bike tours in Argentina, Copenhagen and now Rome, this goes down as the best. The bike trip is... More

My partner and I did sunset tour and we had a great time. We got to see parts of Rome that we would never have seen or have explained if we had just been walking around by ourselves. Thank you to Marco our guide, even though your bike broke towards the end and we walked the last two kilometers back... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
