Leonardo was a fantastic guide during our 6 hr, 30 km journey back in time down the Appian Way. Along the way we visited the Catacombs of San Callisto and Aqueduct Park, had an incredible picnic lunch with meats and cheeses purchased at a local farmers market, and cycled back to Rome through a beautiful park that was reminiscent of... We have booked the 4 hours tour via the website of The Red bicycle Touring, friendly feed back and easy to book. The guide explained in a very comprehensive way the different time periods of Rome and gave us in an easy understandable way information of the huge amount of buildings an sites we have visited. In half a day... More

My kids and I had a wonderful time with our guide, Leonardo (I think that was his name), and really enjoyed getting a little way out of the city. We saw the catacombs, and rode the Appian Way, learning a lot of history and getting a bit of exercise in the process. Leonardo then took us to a great market,... More

My husband and I took this bike tour summer 2015. The guide was very accommodating because I needed to stop and rest at times. The hilly trail he took us on was worth the experience. Our guide knew much history that he shared with us about the area and that added much to the experience. I would totally recommend this... More

Great trip along the old roman road to the viaduct park. Very laid back and nice way to see a different (almost rural) part of Rome

Highly recommended. The best way to see Rome, its fast enough that you get to see everything and slow enough that you get to truly see everything. As with all tours, its dependant on a good host and here is a friendly and well travelled chap who excels in this area and can give you all the tips you need... More

The Red Bicycle tour was a highlight of my trip to Rome. Did the city in the morning, and the afternoon trip through the countryside along the Apian Way was fantastic. I enjoyed the afternoon even more than the city. Highly recommended.

I travelled to Rome with my 13 year old son and this was certainly one of the highlights of our whole trip. It really gave a perspective on the city that I wasn't expecting to find and i came out feeling a little fitter to boot :-)

If you're doing the red bicycle tour be prepared to ride in the city streets. The tour guides were fantastic, kind, and knowledgeable. Don't expect much time to stop and take in any particular site, but you will see almost everything. Great way to introduce yourself to the city if you're a first time visitor and see more of the... Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
