About
The Great Opera Arias Concert is an excellent live concert of Opera arias, the only one to be performed, in the city of Rome, in a theater, inside a building dating back to the seventeenth century, located in the heart of Rome, 100 meters from the Pantheon. The concert is a selection of the most famous Opera arias created by great Italian composers such as Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Mascagni, classics of "Bel Canto", and Neapolitan songs. The program is performed by an ensemble composed of a soprano, a tenor and a string quartet, all virtuosos of Italian opera music. The theater of Palazzo Santa Chiara has perfect acoustics and is the only place in Rome, where opera arias concerts are performed in an auditorium equipped with comfortable velvet seats and air conditioning, and that offers the chance to enjoy an aperitif at the cocktail bar before the concert.

Was looking for something cultural to do on my visit and came across this program. Presented by a string quartet and tenor and soprano soloists. The concert goes for 1 hour which was perfect for me. The Cellist was a stand out

I was hoping to hear some good opera when I was in Italy, and randomly got a flyer from a girl when leaving the Pantheon. This was great! A quick, one-hour concert from legit musicians. I am myself a musician/singer so I feel like I can give a good review. Venue is cooled with AC so first plus. Full bar, another plus! String quartet was great, as were the singers. The night I was there we had a lyrical soprano and a baritone. They were fabulous. A perfect way to get a taste of Italian music for a low price. As others said, the venue is small, so go ahead and get the cheapest seats. It is a small recital hall with good acoustics. Go around the corner to the piazza for dinner after. Thanks for a great evening of music!

I love operas and I was interested in attending one. I went to the Parthenon and found the opera house close by. I traveled with my dad and he was also interested since he had never been to one. This was probably one of the best moments of our trip. You can start off by having a drink before the show and looking around the beautiful building. When the opera starts, you immerse yourself in a world of wonder, music, and everything Italy has to offer. It was UNIQUE experience that I will never forget. Some songs brought tears of joy. There were four musicians and two tenors. I am glad I was able to enjoy an authentic Italian opera. This is an experience that I will guard in my heart and will never forget. My father loved it, I think he will be an opera fan from now on. If you are in Rome, you need to come to this event. I highly recommend, five stars, pure joy!

Happened to get a flyer outside the Pantheon, so bought a ticket for a opera recital there. It was great, both the string quartet and the 2 singers. The venue is also small and intimate. I bought a regular ticket but was only a few rows from the stage. Also, the length of the performance, about 1 hour, was perfect for me after a long day walking around the city. Will definitely come back next time in Rome.

What a wonderful way for classical music lovers to spend an hour of their time in Rome. Firstly, the front of the house is warm, friendly and welcoming. The concert starts at 7:30 and ends about an hour later. The listener is delightfully entertained by very accomplished and professional musicians - a string quartet, a soprano and a tenor. Perhaps a third of the evening features just the string players; the remainder a mix of very recognizable vocal highlights. We went early for cocktails, thoroughly enjoyed browsing around the small but enchanting rooms within the Palazzo before entering a very cozy and comfortable theater for the concert. Highest recommendation for music lovers. Bravo and grazie to all involved!

Don’t miss this concert! Fantastic singers and orchestra. The adjacent room where Santa Chiara lived is a special treat.

Our 40th Wedding Anniversary and I wanted to hear some music/Arias from the Opera. I was overwhelmed by the passion and emotion that the Tenor/Soprano showed. I had not been to this type of concert before but it truly bought a tear to my eye. It was excellent, the musicians were very professional and the audience gave a standing ovation. Take the opportunity to see the Great Opera Arias Concert and enjoy the atmosphere, the historical building and the very fine musicians and singers in the show. I applaud you ***** 5 star show.

Was in Rome for the weekend with friends and it was suggested we go to a concert. There were a few brochures in our hotel and I liked the program for this venue. It has arias as well as Neapolitan folk songs, some popular Italian standards and classical instrumentals. A string quartet plays and also accompanies the vocalists. The performance space is small so all seats will give a fine view and it seemed the acoustics are good so you will hear clearly wherever you are sitting. The voices of the two performers we saw were fine. This is a concert; varied, and it is not the same as going to, say, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. If you are an opera purist-this may not be for you. But, for a perfectly enjoyable time-this is a great choice. A screen shows some iconic images of Italy during the performance. We all thoroughly enjoyed the concert and I plan on returning with my husband and daughter when we are next in Rome. There is a bar with limited seating but we arrived too close to the start of the performance to try it. Plus, as I mentioned; the seating is limited so you could very likely need to stand while drinking and having a small bite before the performance. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The building is a mid-sixteenth century palace and is located close to the Pantheon and Santa Maria Sopra Minerva-so it is in a great location-close to everything! Highly recommend.

I passed this building so many times in my previous visits to Rome. I never noticed this gorgeous theater until this trip.
The Sunday night performance I attended was beyond excellent.
It was performed by one soprano, one tenor, one baritone, a four person music instrument ensemble, and two ballet dancers.
The program consisted of great opera classics from La Traviata, La Boheme, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, Norma, and etc.
The greatest moment came when the Tenor began to sing "Una Furtiva Lagrima" from "L'Elisir D'Amore". I thought I was watching a younger Placido Domingo perform.
A beautiful way to end my 16 days tour to the beautiful Italy.
