Avoid the crowds and head there for the night tour with Italywithus. We were alone for a bit and then only a few other groups came in.

Visited with my Husband and did the audio visual tour. Extremely informative. The place is so big it's hard to grasp it. There are a lot of steps and it's hard going at times but we'll worth a visit.

Absolutely essential place to visit, but hire a guide otherwise you will just see a roman ruin. A good guide brings this site to life.

So much history to take in. Even if you don't get a skip the line ticket, the line wasn't long or bad. Lots of picture taking.

It was quite an eye opener at first sight to see the size and work that must have gone in to build this.

It was so great to visit such famous place. Best option to have romapass instead single ticket due to long q. There is no no busy time but still can enjoy and make amazing pictures.

First, let me say that there were LONG lines for entry. We were fortunate to have a tour group that got VIP entry; we were part of a larger tour and the costs were all rolled together so I don't know how much this particular...More

We went with The Roman Guy for a few tours including the night tour at the Colosseum. Cool , no crowds . It was a walk by ancient ruins then to Colosseum. Under ground too. Recommend. Group of about 15 but had buds too.

I cannot answer your question specifically because I hired a driver in Rome and HIGHLY recommend that. Our driver did all the leg work ahead of time. We walked right up to the entrance, passed a zillion people and walked... More
