The cafe may be a separate business to the shop and art offerings because the warmth from the latter was vastly different. Having said that the entire experience of our visit was memorable. The food and drink was fine just not super friendly staff in the cafe on this occasion. We loved chatting to one of the members of staff who was originally from the Netherlands but a resident of Rome for many years. The mosaic instructor was delightful and we discussed the posibility of taking a class on our next visit. It was a refreshing change from the touristy venues and fitted our outlook on what we like to get out of visiting other parts of the world - engaging with locals! Art classes are available, card evenings, musical events. We liked our visit so much that we wll definitely return when we visit Italy this year, 2017, in August.

I had a short time In Rome and Maria Theresa was very accommodating to fit me in with my 1st ever mosaic class. It is not as easy as it looks, you must have patients and time. I was able to make a nice mirror cross placque to bring home to my mother. I speak no Italian, just point and smile Maria Theresa is a great teacher and I hope to visit again!

I have been to Rome 7 times and this is one of my favorite cafes in one of my favorite neighborhoods. What sets it apart is its decent food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, non-touristy clientele, and lack of affectation. The drinks are pretty awesome also!
