We recently visted Rome with a tour group and our tour of "Rome with a Roman" was a highlight! Our guide was well-educated and so patient with our group of tired American tourists.(Rome was the last stop on our 9-day tour) We really felt like insiders! Our guide showed us the best spots to take pictures, an authentic lunch spot that was not at all touristy, navigated us in and out of the crowds and schooled us on world history. (She could have been a college professor!) She answered every question and made the most of our limited time in the city. Highly recommended!

We visited Rome in mid-April and had an excellent tour with Alessandra. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, but as an experienced mom herself she came with a bag full of props and pictures to help our two girls make sense of the ruins they were seeing. She did a great job of explaining the context and history of what we saw (St. Clemente, the Colosseum, and the Forum) in short enough blocks that our kids (age 6 and 8) could get it without being overwhelmed with too much information. And she told the kids things to find in what were about to see, which is always a great way to keep kids' attention. Moreover, she gave mom and dad a great tour at the same time. It was well worth the money to us to have the tailored informational tour, a font of knowledge about all things Roman that we were curious about, a guide through the maze of lines and crowds so we didn't waste any time getting in to places (or finding bathrooms), and someone who could recommend where to get a snack and find a pleasant place to rest in the midst of our 4 hour tour.

We did this visit with a private tour because we had two babies ( ages 3 and 1 ) and two teenagers in our group of 10. The price for the trip was worth every dollar and from our perspective could not have been better. Manuela planned our movement through the Vatican with skill and professionalism, taking into account the children with every move. Even the two teenagers were glued to her commentary and continued to be involved every step of the way. A big, "Well Done" to our guide and to your organization, Thank You!

My daughter and I had a fantastic time with Manuela. Manuela is very knowledgeable, it was nice to have the 2 tours on our pace, and the ability to ask questions along the way. I would highly recommend Rome with a Roman, and will certainly book them again my the next trip to Rome!!

We were fortunate to have Manuela guide us on our first trip to Rome. We had her guide us first through the Vatican and St. Peter's. then she pivoted to meet our needs and created a new trip to cover all we hadn't seen starting at the coliseum and working our way back to our hotel.
She made sure we maximized our time without running us ragged.
She answered all our questions about the past and current with great color and honesty.
Can't recommend her strongly enough!

Our guide, Alesandra, did a great job. She met our small group of 4 (two couples) at the entrance to the Vatican Museum and led us through the crowds. Along the way she made our understanding of the museums and its treasures come alive. The next day she tailored out tour to the city and its historic sites. We met old and new Rome. She was so knowledgeable and entertaining. The small details and the bigger picture of Rome's history were tied together beautifully. I cannot imagine how getting around in Rome and understanding what you are seeing without her navigating us through the city.

Today Manuela took myself and husband and 12 yr old daughter around the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. It's not easy to entertain a "tween" but Manuela did a great job ! She was very well informed but also delivered the information in an interesting manner . She managed to successfully pitch the tour at the right level which is a truly unique skill for a tour guide .Often they drone on about dates and boring facts but Manuela certainly didnt! We all felt that we had all learnt a lot about the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. Our biggest regret was that we didn't organize more tours with Manuela. She was reasonably priced and we felt the tour was good value for money. Cannot rave enough about her!

Rome was the last stop on our Italian vacation and we were starting to feel a little overloaded coupled with traveling with 3 small children we were a little nervous about how they would do on the tour as well.
Sonia was so knowledgeable about her subject matter and her passion was clear. She went beyond the basics to tell the back story of the sites we visited. I only wish we had booked her for longer.

Manuela was excellent. We recently visited Rome and Manuela guided us for our tours of the Colosseum, Vatican and Sistine Chapel. You will not find a more knowledge, friendly tour guide. Thank you so much for making our trip such an incredible experience. We highly recommend.

Manuela was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable in all areas, and always kept it light on a very hot day! She made all the tours (Colosseum and Vatican) very interesting, and our whole family learned a lot from her. She also made us so comfortable...being with her was like having family show us around. Highly recommend!
