You'll see a lot, but don't get a long pass.

We got a 72-hour pass and did not use it at all, after our first loop around once. We had been told to take it to all of our locations, throughout our time in Rome, but frankly... read more

I am a faithful user of the red hop-on hop-off buses where I go... I've been in Washington DC, London, Brussels, Paris, Bucharest -among others and by far this one is the worst... with the amount of history and stories that Rome have to tell and there are only 8 stops and 80% of the time it is with a... Everything that others wrote is true. Go to multiple windows because you're going to get multiple quoted prices for the trip. The commentary is horrible. Very little details or information about the city is provided. They don't turn on the heat for the bottom of the bus in on this day it was under 40 degrees. Worst of all our... More

We got a 72-hour pass and did not use it at all, after our first loop around once. We had been told to take it to all of our locations, throughout our time in Rome, but frankly, it's easier to walk than to figure out the what seems to be fairly irregular schedules of these busses. It is also not... More

The tour was well organised but there was hardly any information about landmarks, historical places. Throughout the entire tour I think the English speaking guide (through headphones) spoke about 8 times. There are literally historical sites of interest EVERYWHERE you look and hardly any information given. Also, be prepared for ridiculously busy buses. At one point we couldn't get on.... More

We were only in Rome for a day from a cruise ship in Civitavechia and we managed to see all the main sights, although did not go in any of them, using these buses. They were frequent and the staff pointed us in the right direction if we did not know where to go. Audio guide also very useful.

We purchased a 48 hour ticket for our 4 day stay in Rome. The first day we boarded at the start & did one complete loop without getting off. This was great, as we became familiar with the city & could plan the remaining 2 days activity (where we would get off & what we would do etc). The last... More

It is definitely the best way to see all main attractions, especially if you plan short stay in Rome. We bought 24 hours ticket, buses are coming every then minutes, Bus staff is really nice and helpful. My 6 years old daughter enjoyed listening to audio guide and checking map , she was really interested getting all the information. I... More

We bought a 48 hours ticket and made the tour of the main attractions in two days. Took our time as pleased and because the buses came every ten minutes, had not to worry when decided to continue our journey. Good choice.

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
