We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Lauren was amazing on multiple levels. Her knowledge was unsurpassed and her passion for the history, country, and culture was contagious! She made the trip an adventure with her stories, experiences, and humor. She balanced the “time to take things in” perfectly with the rigorous demands of our vacation schedule all while having the contacts in hand to take care of unforeseen emergencies (in our case a family member fell ill mid-tour unsuspectingly and she knew the people and places to get help while fulfilling the tour for the rest of us). She is as much a gem in Italy as the sights she’s showing you.

We did a full-day tour with Italy Tours called "Best of Florence and Pisa" on a recent Royal Caribbean Med Greek cruise. We opted for the semi-private tour with Italy Tours, which included a very experienced driver all day long, and an expert professional guide in Florence. Luca Misuri of Unlock Italy gave us a fascinating 2-hour tour of Florence. He was both knowledgeable and entertaining, and he kept us engaged and interested the entire tour. Luca showed us all of the major sites in Florence as well as the tucked away places that you wouldn't notice if someone didn't tell you about them. The driver did a great job of navigating the highways and the city streets, and he kept us safe and on time all day. All in all, this was an excellent tour, thanks to Italy Tours and Luca our Florence guide.

Our family experienced two days with Unlock Italy Tours while vacationing in Tuscany: a day in Livorno and a day in Florence. Luca and Lauren are TERRIFIC tour guides with the perfect balance of fun, flexibility, and professionalism. The mozzarella-making class and food markets were particular highlights of Livorno (doughnuts! Bellinis! Prosciutto! Octopus!), and the artisans (WOW! THOSE MOSAICS!), hidden stories, and insider Uffizi tips made the Florence visit even more special. Their recommendations for restaurants and gelato shops were spot-on, too. Luca and Lauren adapted our itineraries based upon our group's preferences (we were traveling with friends from Germany, so we were a party of 8.) My family and I highly recommend Unlock Italy Tours and will definitely reach out to them for future travel to Italy! Grazie, Luca and Lauren!

We turned to Lauren and Luca at Unlock Italy to help us plan for 10 days in Tuscany earlier this year, and they worked seamlessly with us to build the trip of a lifetime for our family! Each is an exceptional guide in their own right, and the overall service provided by Unlock Italy checked all of the boxes we wanted for our trip: formal tours of famous sites, off-the-beaten-path excursions, amazing culinary experiences from street food and open markets to tours of artisanal producers to casual restaurants to fine dining. The personal attention and crafting of a truly enjoyable trip itinerary went off without a hitch!

Lauren Mouat is one of the best guides we have had the pleasure of working with. She knows Florence by heart and is passionate about sharing her experience and knowledge. Very personable, flexible, and eager to work with her clients. She brought the extensive history of Florence to life and broadened our appreciation of this remarkable city. Her private tours can be customized and are a great value.
She expertly guided us through Uffizi and the Duomo complex.

We spent several days touring with Lauren and Luca during our recent two-week holiday in Italy. We also utilized Lauren to help plan an itinerary that best met the diverse needs of our family. Both Lauren and Luca are outstanding guides - very knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. They were also available via text or phone whenever we had questions or needed assistance. This was both comforting and, on several occasions, extremely helpful. Our experience with Unlock Italy was outstanding and we would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Italy.

Great trip. Enjoyed seeing all of the famous Italian landmarks in Rome. Lauren at Unlock Italy helped make this trip a trip to remember. Lauren arranged our private guided tour with Evan. Evan was an excellent guide and a wealth of knowledge. He explained everything in a manor which was both educational and fun. There is no way we would’ve been able to see all of what we saw and learned all that we learned in the short amount of time that we had without Lauren and Evan. I highly recommend unlock Italy’s guided tours it’s well worth a little bit extra to have the personal service. Shout out to our driver Leonardo. Always on time to pick us up at each location. 👍👍👍

We went to Italy in July of 22, and fortunately we were referred to Luca and Lauren who run Unlock Italy. Simply put - they made our trip more memorable, more enjoyable, and more comfortable. They truly did "unlock" the history of Italy, and showed us places of significance (and the knew the background) that most tour guides would overlook. Additionally, their focus on you, their client, was unparalleled - they were engaging, energetic, and passionate about what they do. We would highly recommend anyone to use Unlock Italy. They know their stuff, they are really good, and they take great care of you.

The best part of visiting Italy was the day spent on a private tour with Luca in Tuscany. Breathtaking views, beautiful artwork, fresh air, and a tour of a small vineyard where the family still makes wine the old-fashioned way. Followed by wine tasting, and one of the best meals I've ever had, outdoors, overlooking the hillside.
The tour of Venice with Igor was also incredible! His knowledge of the history was impressive, and he knew the answers to any question asked. We appreciated his thoughtful comments as he led the tour.
Lauren is amazing! She is just as lovely in person as she is in emails. Her attention to detail is refreshing, and she plans the kind of tours that I thought only existed in my imagination. Lauren, Luca, and Igor know and love Italy, and it shows.

Lauren did an amazing job guiding our family for two days straight! She took the time to learn about us and our interests as we began the tour. I cannot recommend Unlock Italy Guided Tours enough. We would use her again for a tour anywhere in Italy! If you need a tour guide in Tuscany, Roma, and beyond please consider Unlock Italy Guided Tours to make your time visiting and learning about the amazing historical sites even more special!
