My second time doing a trip with Italy Beer Tours. This tour was just as remarkable as the first. We attended the Villagio Beer fest in Merlo. That was a wonderful event in itself. We traveled from Rome to Porto Sant Elpidio on this tour with time spent in Pienza, Montepulciano, and other towns. We were in 5 different regions during the tour each with their own distinct food and customs. We visited great breweries like the award winning MC77. We were treated like kings at local restaurants. The experience of a lifetime and I've now done it twice. Kudos to Bryan and Paul for creating such a wonderful personalized experience. And, major love to all of the people who welcomed us into their breweries, restaurants and condos.

Wow what a host! Our guide Bryan took us to some amazing local bars and introduced us to some amazing beers. We heard some fascinating stories and got a great history lesson about the Italian beer movement. Every bar we visited treated us like regulars and it was great having a guide who bridged the language gap, While our true was very informative about the history of the local beer there was still a personal touch that made us feel like family! If you like beer, craft or not take the tour, you wiil not be disappointed.

Summary:
If you can agree with me that Italian food is amazing, then you can imagine how good the Italian craft beer must be, correct? :) Yes, these wonderful people also give Italian craft beer the same gift of quality and you will need to make your way over to Rome to experience it....
The Italy Beer Tours is the best way to go. It is worth the investment anytime of year! C'mon it's Italy and it's fantastic beer with amazing food. Bucket list worthy? Yes I agree.
Price? It's a trip to Italy...with a new benefit -- their craft beer... tickets to the Tour? I'd say the tour price ? really...let's just assume you're getting a bargain and the prices will rise as the demand swells (well if I can explain capitalism to my Italian friends) be-aware.
These craft beers aren't at local stores, you'll need to go to the beer-o-teca (brewers tavern, and enjoy the eats too). The sites are always classic Italy. So enjoy :) and tell Bryan I sent you.
Full disclosure:
I know Bryan, one of the founding members of the tours, friends growing up in Vicenza Italy (over near Venice up in the Veneto region). He is a wonderful human being, this is his passion not the start of his Disney empire. Bryan even published a book and articles about Italian craft beer....a true secret gem!...he is selfless in this endeavor.
How I got my exposure to this gem?
I visited Rome last summer with my wife, we didn't have any expectations regarding the tour, but when in Rome... does as the Roman craft brewers do...enjoy their Italian hospitality and love for craft/microbrews. This ain't your Peroni (all due respect), this is a new craving I have...how do I know? I want to be able to buy these beers in Boston...and I'm sure some regulations won't be letting that happen anytime soon.
My beer expertise?
The envy of some? My first two years of college where in Munich Germany--can you say Oktoberfest? Salvator Fest? We won't go into Vino at this segment.
So let me also tell you that I have had my share of beer, not the expert like Bryan or my other good friends that find the deep hidden meaning of life in those stouts or IPA's... I am just a simple light beer drinker at best, and sometimes... like last summer... I was happy to take a few more pints on our journey in Rome. I love a good Pumpkin ale in the Foliage season, a Wachusett Blueberry filled with blueberries, and I am curious about the new Mic Ultra premium...when I get to it. Read Bryans book if you want a professional connoisseur...I'm just happy to share this story and expose a gem that people should enjoy.
What I had while in Italy of the craft brews?
I didn't record the flavors or the names of the brew houses (I apologize), Bryan hooked us up (good to have friends with connections) but Bryan could chime in, as the five good friends of us had a variety, and they were delicious...I didn't make my trip about craft beers but it was a big surprise highlight of the 10day trip...as we travelled around Italy. Also, my taste buds are not yours..obvi...just know I'm honest about how much I loved finding these beers..and it is now a pre-req criteria of my next trip home...yes Rome is my new home. ha!
I think this is worthy of a Netflix special, and or a tour with some fun famed chefs. Let me know if you want my outline...I'd be happy to show you more of Italy.
Ciao for now, respectfully.

We had a great experience yesterday! It was me and my partner and the guide Bryan. We felt really welcomed. It wasn't just information about the artisan beer devolpment here and good beer. It was tidbits about all things italian.
We felt welcome and had a great time.
So if you are intrested in beer and the cosy side of Rome try this.
P.s you won't lever this tour hungry. Great beer and great food.

Our guides, Bryan and Paul are on top of the beer scene. Very fun, beautiful places and people.
I recommend on taking this trip. You won’t be disappointed.

I can’t immagine a better way to tour “all things true Italian beer” than following Bryan! He actually wrote the book on Italian craft beer and knows everyone in the biz and more! All doors open when you’re traveling with him and his gang. Super professional but just straight out a great human being that you just instinctively wanna spend time with, no wonder when he’s around everybody in the Italian beer scene treats him like family! If you wanna discover what really goes on in Rome and the rest of Italy, go with Bryan. No really you should not experience a tourist trap like Rome without a guide and Bryan is truly the best!
Can’t wait to cruise again with him!!!

If you are married to a beer drinker, take them to Rome and meet Bryan! OMG, what a fun day and a great guy. You don’t have to be 25yo to enjoy this tour in Rome, we are 64 and 77! We learned so much about the craft beer history in Italy. DH was very concerned about not being able to understand the host—not a problem. Bryan speaks totally American and fluent Italian. We visited 3 bars and had ample samples and lunch. Bryan isn’t a tour guide, but knows a lot about what we are passing by and has numerous family stories. This is a totally unique experience and should be done by anyone who loves beer.

My boyfriend, Matt, and I were in Rome for a couple days ending our European vacation. After taking a couple wine tours throughout Portugal and Italy, we were in need of some BEER! And coming from Atlanta, where the craft beer scene has started taking off, we were looking for GOOD beer. Lucky for us, we had Bryan with Italy Beer Tours to show us around. We visited 3 bars on foot, which allowed us to see some of the city, too. Being a Rome native, Bryan was super knowledgeable about the city and it’s craft beer history. The beer was delicious and the tour was fun, but the best part was hanging out with Bryan! Matt and I didn’t feel like we were on a typical touristy excursion, which was great; rather we felt like we were bar hopping with our new Italian friend. We honestly could not have had a better time. We’ll definitely be recommending the tour to others visiting Rome. And Bryan, we’d love to grab another beer sometime!

Wow, when I had the opportunity to have Bryan give us a Walking Craft Beer Tour of Rome, I knew I had to jump at it. I was worried that we were trying to cram too much into one day, half day actually as we had to take a train into the city, and a train back to the cruise ship as well.
The tour was small, just four of us and Bryan took us on an amazing walkabout of the city. We ended up seeing more of the city and spending more time in each spot than any of the cruise tours and finished the day with a terrific meal and a pint of beer.
We started the trip with a visit to the Vatican and was stunned to see the Pope come out as he started to give a weekday mass, "Just part of the service" was all Bryan could say, as my wife was nearly in tears of excitement. Quite honestly that was just the beginning of a truly outstanding day that we will never forget.
Bryan was an outstanding tour guide. The stores he wove as we walked down on street or along another were as breathtaking as the views. "That spot right there is where Caesar was stabbed in the back" he points into these ruins crammed between busy streets.. " He goes on to recite fact and snippets of history as cars drive past, looks at us for questions before walking down an street and up an expanse of stairs.. "From here we can overlook much of ancient Rome", He starts in on another story as we stare across an expanse of ruins I had only ever glimpsed in shows, or online.. Ancient pillars, buildings and in the distance the Roman Colosseum can be seen, peeking out behind ruins and modern buildings.. Breathtaking…
We wrapped up the trip in this little Bar across the street from the Colosseum, where we had a terrific lunch and washed it down with craft beer paired for us based off our personal taste, and our lunch. I ended up with a grapefruit ale that had a fantastic citric taste, and wasn’t at all sweet or fruity, like many fruit based beers in America.
While I may visit Rome again one day, This first visit was special not just by the stories Bryan recited about each spot we visited, but also the stories I brought back home about ‘meeting the Pope” or the Gelato or the, or Bryan posing like a Lion in front of the Colosseum ( when he was asked to look like a tiger! ).. All wonderful yarns by themselves and Bryan delivered them all to us in one day…
My favorite thing about the tour was watching the faces of people on the cruise that spent a lot more, doing a lot less and the first thing they had to say about our tour… “What do you mean Rome has craft beer?”
I don’t care how much you get charged for this tour, it’s a bargain an two or three times the price!
