The exposition represents an itinerary through history going from the VII century B.C. to the IV century A.D. brought to life through the accurate reconstruction of helmets and armour of the Roman legions and gladiators, showing over a millenium of history through the most representative weaponry of Roman army and its enemies. Set on two floors, in the basement there is the chance to see and touch the autentique columns of the ancient Stadium of Domitian and to take photos into the gladiators’ prison.

Went there whilst exploring Rome, the guy was so friendly and happy to talk about the history, armour etc. Went into the museum and although it is small, I wasn't disappointed. Looking at all the armour was so awesome, especially if you love that period...More

Was expecting to see some original 2000 year old equipment amongst the exhibits but alas everything was modern replicas. I suppose the real stuff has to belong in the top museums. Nevertheless, a good range of equipment ( armour, weapons, head , helmets etc with supporting...More

The museum is basically a collection of reconstructions of types of armour used by gladiators and the foes of Rome across the centuries of Roman history. As such, if that interests you, it is definitely worth a visit. The exhibition is small and well-organized. It...More

Small museum but well worth the visit. Well presented and a beautiful collection. Something different to visit while in Rome especially on a hot day.

I'm usually very positive in my reviews but that is not the case for the Gladiator Museum. To charge 10+ euros to see a few costumes is robbery. Two levels, each have 15-20 items to look at. I'd say it takes about 15 minutes to...More

We took this tour today with Marco. He was knowledgeable and brought the tour to life with some humour. The tour left one hour later than originally scheduled. We were told because the Vatican asked some of the tour groups to come a little later...More

As my friend is really fond of Gladiators, I thought this should be a must see for him. At 12 euro per person, it is quite expensive. The items displayed are replicas. But, it does give you a nice tour along the development of the...More

Yes I must admit that it is basically a collection of costumes but it is very interesting to see. Because you can look at pitchers but seeing things up close is a very different experience and the staff were very helpful and informative they also...More
