We did the Life of Christ tour with Mountain and it was awesome. Our family of 5 all enjoyed it, including our kids ages 8-14. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and showed and taught us so much more than we possibly could have seen or learned in 3 hours on our own. So many relics and little details we would have missed or never would have seen if we had not seen these churches with him. We saw tombs of Saints, relics of the True Cross and experienced the Scala Sancta which was especially appropriate on a Lenten Friday. We feel so blessed to have experienced this tour and these holy relics that Our Lord touched in his earthly lifetime. I highly recommend doing a tour with Mountain as it is well worth it, especially as a Catholic visiting Rome with limited time, and look forward to doing another one next time we're in Rome! Thanks and blessings, Mountain!

This is our third tour with @thecatholictraveler and we are always impressed with everything we see and all the things we learn. We always recommend @thecatholictraveler to anyone going to Rome. We are looking forward to going on a pilgrimage soon! Highly recommended to anyone looking to learn more about Rome sites. Do not have to be Catholic to enjoy the experiences.

The Catholic Traveler provided 3 private tours for us. Mountain was very responsive and helped us plan tours to cover what we wanted to see in Rome. The first was of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. The second covered Ancient Rome, including the Coliseum as well as the Roman Forum and Paletine Hill. finally, we had a tour of 5 churches following the Life of Christ. We found the guides to be professional, engaging and informative. We learned so much about our faith and the history of Rome. We highly recommend the Catholic Traveler to anyone coming to Rome.

We are pretty famous for being able to get to a place and then have little clue what we are viewing, and that is if we aren't doing our best rendition of Clark and Ellen going around in circles. We love the religious significance of Rome, but it was Mountain who helped us make sure we understood what we were seeing. He arranged a memorable mass in the Vatican grotto, and then proceeded to lead us to relics at all the major Basilicas and St. Peter in Chains....all in five hours time- warp speed for Rome in June. He's a one-man band of a guide and educator, which allows him to customize visits for groups small (we were four people) or large and very large. At the end of the tour, he navigated us to an excellent spot for lunch and followed up later that afternoon with a list of the suggestions he'd made over the course of the morning for other stops on our trip. If you are headed to Rome during high season and have hopes for a memorable Catholic experience, Mountain Butorac, The Catholic Traveler, will help ensure that you don't feel like a beleaguered guest in an endless Disney line.

Last year our parish in Baltimore worked with Mountain of The Catholic Traveler to create a pilgrimage to Italy.
Mountain created a spectacular tour of Florence, Assisi, Oviedo and Rome culminating in a Papal Audience.
He booked our non-stop flights to and from Rome out of Philadelphia, which proved to be perfect. When we arrived in Rome he met us outside the passport check point and once we had our bags we climbed aboard a big beautifully appointed tour bus to our first destination-Assisi.
Mountain proved to be the penultimate tour guide in that he had booked 4 & 5 star hotels in Florence, Assisi and Rome; had expert guides for all the major venues and he worked tirelessly to insure our trip was perfect. And he never left our side thus insuring we had no problems. He also booked 9 diners with us which gave us an excellent flavor of local Italian cuisine. He also took us to a wine and food pairing at an Italian winery.
I must also mention the one activity that both my wife and I speak of almost daily and that was the Papal Audience. Mountain was able to secure front row seats in St. Peter’s Square and we were a handshake away from the Pope as he moved past our seats. SPECTACULAR!!!!
In closing we will always travel with Mountain as I feel secure in his ability to meet our needs and show us places we want to travel to.

We chose a tour that included mass at St. Peter’s in the morning with tours of six other churches afterward. Mountain is a knowledgeable guide and a fun person as well. He gave us a lot of information and didn’t rush us through our explorations of each church. He also gave us a great restaurant recommendation for dinner that evening!

We first toured with Mountain 2 years ago on an adult vacation. This time, we were traveling with our 11, 14 and 16 year olds. It was a great day. The kids enjoyed seeing the relics and we all felt more connected to our faith. He’s a great guide and we had a great day.

Mountain Butorac is a top notch tour guide and lead pilgrim!! He organized our entire trip from start to finish. Although he is American, he is very knowledgeable about Rome's top attractions including the Vatican. He set us up with some top ancient Roman historians and great Italian eateries. He makes the trip cost-efficient (my costs were minus the flight), memorable and fun. I would highly recommend taking Mountain's side Assisi trip. It's amazing there, and there's no place else in the world like it. I have attached a photo of Assisi at sunset from my trip. Now I'm looking to book a Holy Land tour with Mountain.:-)

My husband, sister and her friend -who was in a wheelchair - just went on 2 tours with Mountain in Rome. Mountain took us to so many beautiful churches and was very knowledgeable about the churches saints, history, statues, relics, etc. He also helped us find a Mass to go to on Sunday at his local church by the Vatican and told us where we could see the Pope for the Angelous. I highly recommend this tour. It was best part of our vacation.

I would like to take my daughter (Sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary) on a tour in the Summer of 2019. Does anyone know anything about the St. Anthony Pilgramage that Mountain is doing from June 11 - 22?

Hi Patti, I’ll have all the details for the pilgrimage up soon. Waiting for the final cost of the flights. If you have a specific question, you can email me directly through my site. Thanks!
