An Excellent Experience
What fun we had at Grano and Farina! Chef Pinto is a brilliant teacher who is incredibly knowledgeable with regards all aspects of the cooking process. It didn’t seem to matter what question we asked, he was able to provide us with an in-depth and fascinating answer. It’s obvious that he is passionate about Italian food, in particular, as well as cooking in general and it was so much fun to have the opportunity to work alongside him. We enjoyed meeting our fellow classmates who were from Switzerland and who had already completed a number of classes at the school…not only did we learn some new recipes and cooking techniques but we meet some lovely people and came to know a bit about them and where they came from. At the end of our class we ate until there was little room left for more and we shared in some wonderful Italian wine. We just could not recommend this experience more highly, especially for those who are seeking a different and unique travel experience, for home chefs who love to cook and try new things and for those who would like to to add to their entertaining repertoire.

I took the three day virtual pizza class with Chef Pino and it was truly fantastic! The virtual class format worked really well and Pino was able to offer adaptations for each of our equipment and ingredients. I loved that he took the time to explain the science behind each step it was really interesting and I learned so much. I've already recreated what I learned with excellent results and will probably take the class again in the future to refine my technique.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful class. Pino is such a knowledgeable, patient chef. He taught us to make biscotti in an online class, and the results were delicious. I highly recommend this class to anyone who would like to learn the secrets to great Italian cooking.

I was referred to Julia and Pino's Pasta making class by a good friend who previously took a class. When I say that this was the best experience I had my first (albeit not last) trip to Italy, I absolutely mean it!
This is a step by step class. Everything from the correct way to hold a knife to making the perfect pasta dough! Julia is an amazing teacher. I say that because I am horrible at cooking and she was so patient and kind throughout the entire process! I highly recommend adding a class to your visit in Rome, it is an unforgettable experience and one you can share with family and loved ones on your return home!

We took part in three online courses and every single one was just great! We learned so much about italian cuisine. Chef Pino gave us also lots of basic tips we are now using in our everyday cooking.
We totally recommend these classes to every one who wants to bring his cooking skills to the next level.
Thank you!

Last November we did four pasta classes with Pino and Julia and throughly enjoyed ourselves. Learned a lot but also had a lot of fun. Bringing home the learned skills and being able to reproduce them has brought a lot of pleasure. Being in lockdown, I did the online class for Neapolitan Pizza. Not surprisingly, it was excellent and the pizza turned out fantastic. Highly recommended especially in these trying times.

I had the pleasure to attend a cooking lesson in Rome at the end of this summer, but I am sure that thanks to their passion, they will be able to offer excellent online classes, too!
I had a pasta class followed by the 4 Roma sauces.
Sfoglina Julia and Chef Pino are two wonderful people and their knowledge of fresh pasta and recipes for Roman sauces gave me an experience that exceeded my expectations. Lots of knowledge, love for cooking and attention to high quality products!

I joined the lovely couple who run (and staff!) the cooking school for a class about baking bread and I had a wonderful experience. We did so much! We made baguettes, ciabatta, focaccia, and whole wheat rolls. Everything was delicious and it was a wonderful day. The teaching is very carefully explained and they prepare various stages of the dough in advance so I was able to experience what would take 3 days in 3+ hours. I'd love to take more classes with them.

What an absolute FANTASTIC time 4 of us girls had at our pasta making class while in Rome. I have been to Rome several times & this was one of the best activities/experiences we have ever done. We learned so much & felt so confident in making the same recipes when we got back home for our families. They turned out PERFECTO! Julia & Pino were so professional and fun at the same time. This is a MUST when you visit Rome! Thank You Julia & Pino for such a memorial time!

With Chef Pino I did two virtual cooking classes (Neopolitan-Style Pizza and Risotto). Pino and Julia are true professionals who operate with warmth and charm. This is just the beginning of my learning with them!

I was due to study with them in-person, when my trip to Rome was cut short because of the pandemic. Studying with them via FaceTime was a delight. TRY IT!
