I pre booked this tour before we came to Rome using viator website and were greeted by our reps in piazza del popolo. We left by coach and headed for Vesuvius. It took about 2.30 hours to get there but we stopped for a break half way. The bus took us up to the starting point and we were advised... More

Its a long ride on the coach. Pompeii its self is well worth a visit so much to see so well preserved. Tour guide was not very good. Naples you could see was and could be very beautiful but at the moment totally covered in scaffolding see you can not see much.

Architecture and history beyond your dreams . How is place in such good condition after all its gone through . Not to be missed . Radio guide is important , if you cant afford a human guide which is better . It is busy at most times . Some floors are un even not for the infirm or unfit .

I was a little leery of a booked day trip--long drive, people you don't know, how much are they really going to tell you. WRONG WRONG WRONG. I was so happy with this- yes, it is a bit expensive but so very worth it. Firstly, Viators replied to several questions i had well before I left home, politly and quickly.... More

When we began planning to take our trip to Rome, visiting Pompeii and mt. Vesuvius was at the top of our list. We book on dark Roman tours.com and we got the pricing list , we paid €125 each. When we book it online we thought this was expensive , we were wrong. We got a confirmation email, telling us... More

Seeing is believing when you visit Pompeii and see for yourself the incredible devastation caused by a volcano. Archaeologists have uncovered amazing secrets of civilization and daily life of so long ago. We really enjoyed our 2 hour guided tour of the highlights. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting.

I loved that the cruise port is walking distance to the city center for shopping. There is also a beach and a beautiful view of the Volcano in pompeii. I highly recommend a visit to the beautiful city of Naples and do have their pizza, wine and gealato.

Great half day tour. Guide was wonderful and all the arrangements were good - no confusion about times or pick up points and they rang our hotel to double check everything. No complaints at all and would definitely recommend - booked in the UK before we got to Naples.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
