I did a tour around Vatican on the 10 April and Colosseum & Palatine the next day. For Vatican museum and Sistine chapel, we had a lady called Jane who wasn't only knowledgeable but also very energetic. She gave us detailed explations about each painting which I would have walked past blandly thinking 'oh that's a nice picture..'. She knew... More

We had a very lovely lady called Donnatella (I think!) take us on a guided tour of the Vatican City with about 8 others. She was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the Vatican and the politics and religion behind the city. Unfortunately we had to miss St Peters Basilica as our tour was run on Good Friday (Holy Week)... More

We arrived at the Vatican at 8am, because we wanted to try and beat the crowds and get in and out. We had heard that the best way to do that was to take a tour. After meeting an American man on the street at 9am, we decided that his tour price of E40 (reduced especially for us from E45)... More

We toured the Vatican with this company and it was amazing particularly because of Lara. She gave a fantastic 3hr tour and we were captivated the whole time! She was knowledgable, super friendly and gave us a great insight into both the Vatican and Rome itself. The tour included the popes address also which we didn't think we were able... More

We met these by chance outside the Colosseum, and decided to join in on their guided tour. The tour provided us with really good and well thought out information and the tourguide took its time to make sure everyone was included. After the Colosseum a new tourguide named Elaine took over and followed us to the old part of Rome.... More

The scenery in all the stops is breathtakingly beautiful. But you did pay (A lot) for guidance and pazaz while you see them. The guide was very sweet and nice but you couldn't hear her soft voice very well and she lacked the english needed to make a real contribution to the experience. I would recommend to go without a... We bought tix to Vatican museum online. We were making our way there when a guy stopped us and managed to convince us to get a tour with his company. We later found out it was Romaround tours. He advised us we would only get to jump the queue for St Peters if we did the full tour with museum... More

Firstly, tours are almost 100% the guide and Justin was excellent. For 20€ the tour kicks off close to Termeni station where you meet your group and the "rules" are layed out. It's immediately clear that this tour will be informative and not just another "here's this old thing.." tour. After a brutal bus trip to the Vatican we started... More

This tour was the worst tour I have ever been to. The operator of the tour disrespected his workers and clients. He was disrespectful to my family when we were negotiating. I DISLIKE this tour very much. The only alright experience with this, is the open wi fi.

I was waiting in line for the vatican until I was harassed by a very nice but persistant man he cut me and my family a very good deal for skipping the line and a tour but this was a short lasting victory as we had gotten to the agency at 9:00 am being told our time was for 10:00,... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
