Neighborhood: Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

It is the very large space that you see when you exit the Termini station, if you arrive in Rome by train.
The square is dedicated to the five hundred Italian soldiers who died in the battle of Dogali in 1887.
Currently it does not even look like a square but a gigantic and chaotic terminus and a large parking lot.
It is also the largest bus hub and the most important Metro station in Rome.
There are many hotels, mostly built around the 1960s, which show all their age.
They recently placed a statue dedicated to Pope John Paul II in the center, which is very suggestive.
We rarely go through it, because it's not in the area of our daily interests.

Huge square in front of Termini Station. Great for connections to the rest of Rome (huge bus station, metro station) and full of cheap eateries, but that's it.

The hotel was central and on a busy street but that added to the Rome experience, it was easy to get to all the attractions because the touring bus stop was just outside. The hotel was beautiful and extremely clean from the moment we arrived all the staff we came across were attentive and really friendly and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a good time. I was there with a friend who felt the same about the service we had. I would like to mention Febronia one of the staff who was informative and happily helped me book our shuttle taxi to the airport at the end of our stay. The hotel room was comfortable and spacious and the breakfast buffet catered for every palate. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family and I hope to visit it in the near future.

It’s A car park in front of the railway station main terminal and not a place to hang out. There are a lot of police around which says it all.

This is the large square located in front of the Termini station in Rome. The square is dedicated to the 500 fallen Italian soldiers who perished in the Battle of Dogali in 1887. A very busy square, it is filled with travellers, pedestrians and traffic.

Now a days a major bus station is located at Piazza dei Cinquecento, however the square was originally called Piazza di Termini (named after the baths). During the battle of dogali, 500 soldiers were killed, the square was renamed and dedicated to the fallen in 1888. Probably not a stand alone attraction, however you will possibly pass through it, on the way to the station.

Piazza dei Cinquecento is the large piazza in front of the Termini Railway station in Rome. It has been named to honour the 500 soldiers who fell in the battle of Dogali in 1887. It is a very busy place, with lots of traffic, both pedestrian and vehicular. There are many shops in the area and you can buy whatever you wish in a hurry.
