About
A wine experience like no other! VinoRoma offers wine education to locals, tourists and expats alike, all in the comfort of our own private tasting room and cellar in the heart of Rome, just minutes from the Colosseum. Wine is an important part of Italian culture. During our wine tastings we give you the key to understanding Italian wines and your own personal taste so that you can continue exploring long after the tasting ends. Never intimidating, stuffy or confusing; just a lot of fun and very insightful, too! We also offer private food tours in various authentic residential neighborhoods around Rome. Get away from the tourist traps and visit local food markets, specialty shops, cafés, pizzerie, gelaterie, and more in order to see how locals really shop. And throughout you'll taste all varieties of foods, both traditional and modern, to learn what really is traditional Roman cuisine and how it is evolving to fit the modern world.

Once again, we loved our experience with Maurizio! The reason I say once again is that this is the 3rd experience we've had with Maurizio, including a food tour in the pre-pandemic days. For our most recent experiences over the past month, Maurizio gave us a great food tour of the Trianfale neighborhood and then on another day we went to his studio for a wine & cheese dinner.

He had quite a selection of food prepared, each paired with the wines we were going to try. While we didn't love all of the wines (after all, isn't the point of wine tasting? to find out which ones you love or not love?), we learned a lot about the wine making process along the way. In particular, none of us had ever known about what "additives" are in wine but never mentioned on the bottle.

So, we highly recommend getting together with Maurizio when in Rome - you won't be disappointed.

We went for the Thursday "CantinAperta". They had a wine list with 6 wines, all great. You can taste them individually or make a full tasting of all 6. Total price was about 35E for all 6, and the pours were generous.

The hosts have good tastes in interesting wines.

Frank was hands down awesome! As a Canadian, he spoke fluent English and he is a certified expert in his trade. He shared insights about Italy, all the wines we samples, and even showed us the wine cellar. He did not "push" or sell anything afterwards, which made it a no-stress and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to sample some regional wines in a fantastic setting.

For someone with little to no experience in wines prior to the tasting, I had a great experience at VinoRoma, and plan to return at a later time.

The host is inviting, knowledgeable, and does a great job explaining the wines and their backgrounds, as well as fostering discussion. Overall, the atmosphere felt welcoming and pleasant even for a beginner.

There was a nicely varied selection of wines from differing regions in Italy. I'm very happy I got to try such a broad range of wines, as no two wines felt the same, each was it's own experience.

The cellar itself is located in a charming neighbourhood close to the colosseum. A short walk from the metro.

We had an amazing 3 hour culinary walking tour in the historic district in Rome, led by Maurizio of VinoRoma Wine Studio and Social Club. Maurizio provided us a personalized tour focussed on the great tastes of the area while highlighting details of the history. A very enjoyable day. I would recommend Maurizio if you're looking for a wonderfully well rounded experience.

Maurizio took us on a tour of Testaccio Market and the surrounding neighborhood and we had the MOST AMAZING time. He's really funny, kind and full of historic facts about the city. We ate the best pizza of our lives and adored the entire tour. Would 100% book with him again next time I'm in Rome.

One of the top highlights of our break in Rome.

We tasted 3 white wines and 3 reds and learned so much, from how to taste the wine properly through sight, smell and taste to understanding about the wine making process and the different wine making regions of Italy.

Maurizio was brilliant, extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions and offered hints and tips for us to consider when buying wine. A fantastic experience that I would highly recommend.

This was a fantastic tasting. The wines and service were top notch. The studio is very comfortable and Maurizio was extremely knowledgeable. We have done tastings all over the world and this was by far one of the best. If you are in Rome and enjoy wine this is worth the stop.

My niece and I had a wonderful time doing a food walking tour with Maria! We started near Campo dei Fiori, wandered over the Tibor River to Trastavere and through that neighborhood, then back across the river to the Jewish Ghetto. Stopped for yummy savory and sweet treats along the way while she shared interesting and fun historical facts and stories. Definitely recommend!

In August 2022, my husband and I did the Trinofale neighborhood food tour with Maurizio. We spent several hours exploring the neighborhood and its food gems - including Roman pastries, pizza, wines, and the most exquisite mozzarella we have ever tasted. It was a wonderful introduction to Roman cuisine and Maurizio was an excellent guide and supremely knowledgeable. Two days later we went to a wine tasting at the Wine Studio and enjoyed several delicious wines. We later had dinner nearby at one of the restaurants recommended by Maurizio and then while still in Rome, had dinner at another of his recommendations. All were excellent. The food tour, the wine tasting, and these restaurants were all top highlights of our five days in Rome. We learned a lot about food, wine, and Rome and enjoyed it all very much!
