About
The exhibition is one of its kind in the world, with a collection of 50 previously unseen machines, which are finally allowed to touch and try and certified reproductions of the 23 most famous paintings of the Tuscan Genius. From The Last Supper to Mona Lisa, the recognised masterpieces have been reproduced full scale according to the typical procedures of the Renaissance workshops and using the same materials (of 500 years ago!) Leonardo used. The visit includes an Audio guide too.

Top ways to experience Museo Leonardo Da Vinci Experience and similar attractions

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.

The Leonardo da Vinci Experience is a lovely way to spend around 1 hour if you find yourself near Vatican City. With an audio guide in hand, the da Vinci lover is taken through a tour of his most famous inventions and paintings, such as the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. This is a highly individual experience but is also ideal for families with kids who will be drawn to touch and operate the collection of machines — including the bicycle, the self-propelled cart and various war artillery.

The nearly identical reproductions of art and the accompanying audio explanations will leave the museum-goer with a newfound breadth of knowledge and appreciation for one of history’s most celebrated Renaissance men. There is even the Instagram-worthy The Mirror Room, an eight-sided chamber of mirrors that da Vinci created because he considered the "mirror as the master of all painters.”

Additionally, the staff was very friendly, helpful and they speak multiple languages. This small museum is a definite must for tourists and residents alike.

That was amazing! Personally I don’t like guided tours but I love this kind of tours. You definitely have to visit this museum. I learned a lot of stuff about Leonardo and it was simply amazing! Stuff was super friendly and helpful (I have forgotten their names….fail…their shift was on the 25th August). I really recommend you this place

Only a few rooms of reproductions of various quality. Tickets are 12 Euro and we spent around 15 minutes inside. Maybe kids would have more fun?

The Museum shows really cool inventions and paintings from Leonardo DaVinci. Sadly it does only take about 30 min to max. 1 hour to go through and the inventions and paintings are rather closely placed. A all in all nice Museum but I wouldn’t visit a second time.

If you are curious about machinery and want to see functional models of Leonardo's genious inventions, this place is for you. The staff is very friendly and speaks perfect English, which is rare to find in Rome. There is an audio guide included in the entry fee, which tell you all you need to know not only about the devices he invented, but also the art he created.
The only thing keeping me from 5 stars rating is that few models were very simplified or missed a crucial part of the mechanism. If you are a mechanical engineer, this will drive you crazy, but if you are not, you will love this museum 100%!
