We took the 1-hour night bus tour of Rome, which did did show us quite a bit of the city, but most of my interpersonal interactions were frustrating, and somewhat questionable.
As I walked up to the booth to buy tickets, the two guys working were talking, then took a cell phone call. When they did acknowledge me, they said they could book my party of 5 for tomorrow, but only if I scheduled then. I did, then when I offered to pay, one said they only took cash. I said I didn't have it in cash, and would just book it online. The other employee then "found" a card reader.
I asked to confirm the route, and one guy told me to follow him to the current bus sitting there. While walking, with my receipt, I asked him where to put my name, etc for tomorrow and he just said to follow him. We walked up to the bus, he and some other associates yelled in Italian, and he finally handed me my tickets, after saying to come with him and that he would refund me because they were too full for the next 3 days.
However, another guy came out when I started getting frustrated and found seats for the 5 of us on the over booked bus. They had 3 real seats, and two of us, myself and a 12 year old, were seated with our backs to half of the windows in odd fold-down seats.
Lastly, one of the headphone jacks didn't work, so we also had to share.
I'm very disappointed in my first experience with Big Bus and will be sticking with other bus tour lines that I've used in the past.
