My wife and I did a morning Pompeii tour and afternoon Herculaneum tour with Alex.
We’ve done tours in many different countries and cities (all over France and the US, Prague, London, Barcelona, etc.) and Alex is, without a doubt, the best tour guide I’ve ever had the pleasure to follow. Incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his job, I would recommend spending as much time with him on his tours as you can.
He’ll ask the things that interest you, and make a point to show you them everywhere. The tour is certainly tailored to exactly what interests you and what you want to see.
He can read the Latin inscriptions and explain their meaning (fascinating to me), tell you what life was like for them, and how he comes to those conclusions.
If he sees your eyes linger on anything for a longer time than normal, he makes sure to ask what you see and explain to you as much or as little detail as you want.
Truly an incredible and a fun tour. I could easily come back to the area for several days doing different tours with him.
