Apollo in the main square

You get a bit of an idea as to the grandeur of this long lost temple, but much is missing. It is a peaceful place though with nice views back to Vesuvius.

One piece of advise: get a guide or join a tour group. Or get an excellent guide book on Pompeii. You will get so much interesting information from the guide and they will lead you to all the major points of interest inside Pompeii. We go solo on many world attractions but this was just easier to get a guide.... More

The Temple of Apollo is a Roman temple dedicated to the Greek and Roman god Apollo in the ancient Roman town of Pompeii. So much to see while at the ruins. Highly recommend hiring a tour guide. You learn so much more!

It is definitely worth getting a tour guide to lead you through the ruins at Pompeii. There is so much to see and so much history that getting some details on what you are looking at and what to look for is very important.

Highlights of Ancient Pompeii include the Big Theater, Small Theater, the Forum, Basilica and the Temple. It is worth a visit and will be included in most tours.

It is like a plaza in Pompeii ruins so it is nice to walk around; otherwise, most of the things we saw were between walls and walked on the "alleys" but this one has a bigger space to appreciate the ruins.

Of all Pompeii temples the Temple of Apollo is the most noteworthy one. And it was closed! P.S. a few previous reviewers claimed having been inside the temple recently but judging by the photos they provided they have not as the pictures are those of the Basilica and the Forum colonnade.
