An amazing monumental site which simply enhances the entire experience here. A not to be missed part of the entire experience and something that is well worth seeing.

The Temple of Apollo is located right at the entrance on the left hand side, this temple has not been preserved well apart from column here and there which is being restored, but at one time this might have been a beautiful temple where justice...More

This temple was used by the high priests and those of nobility. You can see the mixture of Roman and Greek architecture.

Another temple with interesting details, not complete by any means but interesting anyway. Apollo was just one of many powerful Gods the Pompeiian people believed in....

The Temple is quite small and we were intrigued to know how this temple would have been used at the time. It really was not for the people, but for the high priests and nobility. You can see Vesuvius in the background and I wanted...More

The park of pompei is overall really interesting. There are many things to see in the whole park. It's almost 43 or 44 acres and contains lots of interesting ruins. Homes, temples, brothels, artwork, etc. It really gives a good glimpse into how ancient people...More

Sadly now largely ruined, but as well as some huge pillars, there are impressive (replica) statues of Apollo and Diana, standing where the originals, now in Naples Archaeology Museum, stood. There is also a lovely stone sundial.

The temple of Apollo is not one of the best preserved ruins in Pompei but still you can imagine how was religion in such an important city in antiquity

Much of this temple has been destroyed, but apparently its foundation dates to the 6th century BC. Some of the columns can still be seen.

The amount of the temple that remains is amazing. I haven’t seen anything like this. Most of the temple appears to be made of marble and the columns are huge. The process of building it must have taken a ton of time. It’s amazing to...More

This is the site of a very important religious building. When one is really interested in ancient archaeology and in knowing about ancient civilizations, etc, Italy is the place to go. Pompeii is a "must see" destination. Pompeii. is a famous archaeological city in Campania...More

you have to think outside the box of how things were in their day, Apollo is such a big part of mythology, understand that and you understand all the temples.
