Nice plase to visit while in Pompeia

It is a very nice cathedral in Pompeia. Worth a visit while you are there, after visiting the ruins, it is a walking distance.

It is a cathedral in its most biblical sense. The architecture is stunning and if you half close your eyes, you will think you are looking at one of those gorgeous duomos in Florence. Pick one of the benches facing it and just sit while sipping your cup of latte. I did.

The basilica is located just about 200 meters from our hotel, and it is really worth the visit. The paintings on the ceiling are amazing, and very details. We complete the tour with a visit to the bell tower, in which we can see beautiful city of Pompeii from above. It costs only 2 EUR per person. Another thing worth... More

Great architect and wonderful paintings. A lovely shop run by nuns. If you are very lucky you will have an open air service with wonderful singing.

I went there on a weekday night in October, I don't know what was happening but the church was packed with people, all touching the holy water and crossing themselves like there was no tomorrow. The service ended, they didst hang about they all scarped like lightening and they starting turning the lights off. I looked around for a bit... More

We were lucky to be here for the celebration of the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Rosary shrine. The town filled with thousands of people from Naples and the surrounding area. The communion line stretched from the altar, through the church, down the steps, around the piazza and along the Via Roma, with police and emergency services all... More

It costs 2 Euros to take an elevator to the top of the tower. From there you can capture Mt Vesuvius, modern Pompei, and ancient Pompei all in one shot.

We stuck our head in the door as we were passing by and were amazed at how beautiful this Cathedral is. The marble walls and floor are some of the best I have seen and the ceiling is stunning.

Having poked our head in many churches in the last week, this has to be one of the gems. It is open, fresh, bright and full of worshipping people not just visitors. On your way to the ruins take a few minutes to nose around and I think you will find the place inviting and honestly a very tasteful venue... More
