Cover up well with lots of water very very hot. But it’s a must visit better with a guide as they can tell you the history of it but if your doing it on your own visit the little shop and pick up a book of Pompeii past and present well worth it as you get photos of the before and after bit pricy the books at 16 euros

The Temple of Venus is one of the first sites that you come to after entering Pompeii via the Porta Marina. It is now mostly ruined, so it is difficult to imagine what it would have looked like in its heyday. There is, however, an impressive, very large modern statue of a naked man, gazing out over the town wall of Pompeii from within the Temple of Venus.

There is so much to see at Pompeii so you really need to decide what is critical. We just briefly stopped here on our way out.

A day at Pompeii will be a hot Day. Plan accordingly. You will be waking on I even cobblestone streets covering miles of terrain. Wear comfortable shoes and being water.

The buildings, homes, Baths and social locations range from ruined to moderately preserved. The experience is monumental. It was a highly educational day.

so much of Pompeii is to use your imagination, in the background is the famous volcano that destroyed Pompeii and the Temple was set up would have paid respect to the landscape.

The Pompeii Scavi is vast. You can spend days exploring the city. Each building is unique and some are more preserved than others. You can enter many of the buildings and explore the gardens. It is a beautiful memorial to the great city.

So much to see at Pompeii and many of the places are very similar so it is hard trying to work out which place is which in order to review.

With this attraction - the temple ruins it was easy to remember because they are right near the entrance and make a grand stance with a backdrop of Mount Vesuvius. Well worthy of a photo attraction to another to take in the full effects.

Most of this is in rubbles. There were ionic column pieces adorning the area, signs that it was a huge temple.

This area is where our tour ended. Perched at the edge of the ancient city at the hilltop, not only do you have remains of columns and other marble structure to see, but it provides an amazing view back across the city.
