My two teenage sons and I were lucky enough to have Paolo as our guide in Pompeii. He is supremely knowledgeable, engaging and a superb storyteller. Knowing what I know now I would skip Sorrento, Positano and spend the day with Paolo in Pompeii and the Herculaneum. The time goes by so fast you won't believe you just spent 2.5... More

We weren't sure if it was worth getting a personal guide and when the tour started it felt a bit rushed, but it soon became clear that it had to be to try and fit everything in. We had a four hour tour and the time shot past and it feels like we only scratched the surface. The guide was... More

We very much enjoyed our tours of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Emiliano did a fine job with our group of six. We learned a lot and highly recommend him. -Karen

Our time in Pompeii with our tour guide Felicia was money well spent. We booked a 2 hour introductory tour and it was everything we wanted. Felicia made the place come alive with her stories and descriptions. We were happy to be in a small group and not a large tour. Felicia knew all of Pompeii and took us to... More

Our guide Paolo Gardelli is a brilliant archaeologist! Amazing knowledge with a wonderful touch of humor and fun. Our group still raves about the tour with Paolo. He explained the science of archaeology mixed with history and relevance of the events. Highly recommend!

I should start by saying that if you are only interested in a quick, casual tour, this may not be for you. In our case, Pompeii was the primary goal of the trip to Italy, so we were willing to splurge on this tour. With that in mind, we found this was well worth the extra expense. Anna was with... More

I visited Pompeii with my 12 year old daughter and decided to book tours for both Pompeii and Herculaneum so that we experienced as much as possible. Emiliano's tours were recommended by some friends and it was definitely an inspired recommendation. Booking was all done by e-mail with Denise, who helped us settle for a 4 hour tour of Pompeii... Our Tour of Capua was just excellent. Anna met us right on time and gave a a very thorough, relaxed, tour of the ruins in Capua. We heard lots of interesting stories of how the gladiators and the wild beasts were kept in the lower chambers and then how they were delivered to the arena. Pretty amazing stuff. After the... More

This is a winning combo: a fully knowledgeable archeologist and a capable tour guide. We opted for the full day Pompeii and Herculaneum tour and had Paolo Gardelli for our guide. He is an archeologist at the nearby Stabiae excavations, and his knowledge about the age, the area and the people is very impressive and entertaining. He is also a... More

Emiliano went above and beyond to give us a truly in-depth tour of Pompeii. Wow is all we can say. Truly not only made us feel welcome, but worked well with my wife walking and put her at ease as we ambled through Pompeii. Emiliano is most knowledgeable and definitely doesn't work off a script. We found him on Tours... More
