This Basilica ( a great model for the latest Christian temples) is very well preserved due to the sturdy walls it rest in, a bit less ornate than other buildings but still worth seeing

This is one of the most imposing of Pompeii's public buildings. Some of the columns remain, but to get an idea of what it looked like, use book that shows you reconstructions

This was my favorite part of Pompeii. And that’s saying a lot. It’s the ruins of a huge building from two centuries ago. Truly amazing to see. It is right off the main square and near a large temple. Very nice

This must have been a magnificent basilica prior to the eruption and what they uncovered shows how wonderful it must have been.
