Walking through the streets of the old town we came across this artwork unexpected, a beautiful fresco dating back to 1600 AD located on the northern slope of the walls of Naples, San Gennaro, the door is now incorporated into a housing complex that faces the 'broad Via Foria close to Piazza Cavour.
This fresco representing the Virgin Mary and Saints who beseech the end of the plague that afflicted Europe in 1600 AD, which is still in good condition.

What I enjoy about Naples is how history is included in the everyday life of the Neapolitans. People are going about their business through this gate. we were the only people taking pictures and looking at the gate. The painting and the little shrine both preserved and pretty. You can see this gate on your way to the other sites but make sure not to miss it

Wonderful sight to see in Naples. I was brought by a local and was introduced to one of the more hidden gems of the city.
