Gesu Nuovo was originally constructed in 1470 and rebuilt between 1584 - 1601. There are 7 chapels in the church featuring various tributes to biblical scenes and saints. The adjacent gardens of Isabella Feltria are also very nice. Constant Companion and I found the ex...More

Amazing decorative application in the facade which is covered in diamond-point rustication. The 17th century doorway incorporates the original renaissance entrance to the original palazzo. Baroque to the max, the interior is richly decorated with multi-coloured marbles and ornate works of art, including statues, vivid...More

The Gesu Nuovo church is an interesting church located just around the corner from the Toledo metro station and not too far from Vei dei Tribunali. The outer facade of the church is very interesting and quite quirky with the pyramid designs. The interior of...More

The facade of the church is perhaps what stands out the most. It is reminiscent of more contemporary brutalist architecture in a way. It’s different but beautiful and in contrast to the interior. Inside we find a truly remarkable baroque church that is decorated in...More

Like so many of the churches in old Naples, this one is stunning. Definitely worth a walk about if artwork and architecture are of interest to you.

This church has a rather unimpressive exterior compared to the size and grandeur of its interior. It's stunning and definitely worth a visit.

Very unusual exterior for a church, was originally built as a palace. Worth admiring before entering. The interior is overwhelmingly Baroque, the frescoes are absolutely beautiful and the colours of the many stones and marbles are simply lovely. There is so much to look at...More

We didn’t get to go inside but walked past this church a number of times and each time I couldn’t not stop and resist taking a photo of the outside.

I have not seen guides. The challenge in Italy is the language. The texts under the exhibits are very often in Italian. I suggest you will buy good guide books and study the venue by googling before.
