This church has such an unusual exterior façade that you would never guess that the interior is so richly Baroque. It is really quite beautiful with its wonderful frescoes, abundant marble and 11 side chapels. I have seen a number of impressive Italian churches and this one ranks very high on the list. What a wonderful church. I would rate it more highly than the Sistine Chapel - huge, beautiful, empty, and glorious. A major asset to a great city, and only 1 hour 10 minutes by fast train from Termini, Rome.

Walking in from outside I was amazed. I wasn't quite expecting what I saw it was quite awesome. Rocco, Baroque and other art forms all mixed in together. Quite spectacular really.

Well worth taking a look and learn something about Giuseppe Moscati. This had been a Jesuit church but when they were kicked out of Naples the Franciscans took over.
