In a city filled with centuries of stunning classic art, I figured I should attempt to expand my horizons and see some contemporary art. What a disappointment. A beautiful building housing exhibitions that, well, the only positive thing I can say is that they are...More

Not the easiest museum to locate but once you are there, this is a beautiful building with the exhibits nicely integrated into the architecture. It was like visiting a fun house for adults. Make sure you find your way to the roof top terrace for...More

Brilliant idea for a museum - give great modern artists a space and let them design their own work to fill it. Outstanding

Really great selection of stuff to see here, and the museum was free in August. Very modern art, well curated.

This is not a collection of classical art, and does not even have much modern art. It is indeed contemporary (of the present time). The Warhols, Koons, and Kapoors are few and far between, but there are plenty of avant-garde, recent art from Italy. Those...More

Hidden in a side street near the Duomo is the MADRE, museum of contemporary art. Although pricy at the entrance, It's worth the effort for people that are into conceptual, minimal and landscape art. For those who aren't, sorry.... Good works from Koons, Warhol, Kapoor...More

I always like to go to a moderne museum, especially in Italy but the trip to the museum was a sad one because we were the only one there. The exhibitions were not that bad but not very consistent. The galleries are very big and...More

Go and visit Madre. It has a very good collection of avantgarde classics such as Clemente, Koons, Beuys, Warhol... On Mondays the entrance is free.

The museum is interesting although not every installation is well described and sometimes english version is missing. It is worth visiting only if someone likes contemporary art.
