Missing this castel is a mistake! Taking the tours are well worth the time! The history of this castel is fascinating. We enjoyed the archeological tour & had a wonderful tour guide, Sarah! She was very knowledgeable and informative. This was a hidden gem in...More

There are (at least) three castles in Naples, and they are all very different experiences. Some of the reviews are for the wrong castle- so make sure you know which one(s) you want to visit and how to get there. Castel Nuovo (or Maschio Angioino)...More

An historical monument that has been renovated and repurposed as an art museum. Perhaps of historical significance to Neopolitans but not of serious interest to a casual tourist considering it is a paid attraction.

We were looking forward to it, but disappointed by the surly service at the ticket desk, poor access via lifts to the various floors, poor curating of the exhibits - so eventually fled! Better things to do in Naples than this.

Very imposing from the outside and near the ferry terminal. Not that much to see inside except some old paintings and information on its history.

The Civic painting and art works were amazing on all 3 levels. The downfall of the museum is when we had to use the lift and could not use the stairs. The long wait due to the 6 person limit made our visit longer than...More

We visited the castle yesterday and there is literally nothing worth of note to see. Only 6 euros to get in but I would rather have gave it away as it would have had more purpose than the visit. It’s a huge castle with nothing...More

What a rip off. When we were going around we found place after place closed to visitors - despite having paid an entry fee. The whole thing was poorly set up as a visitor attraction. As we went around my wife started to read the...More

You can certainly take photos here; if you go to see the underground excavations you will benefit from a flash. Be aware though that this is a fort - there aren't the lavish interiors that you would expect to see in a... More
