Around the origin of our Catacombs much has been discussed, they were simpleburial and never were quarries or underground ways; the first note of the monumentis repeated since the death of St. Agrippino our bishop in the II century, when hisbody was buried there in a noble tomb. Many miracles the saint operated by thetomb, so it became a place of reverence and neapolitan wished to be buried in thatplace.

Trying to escape the heat of the day, we found this underground jewel. Part of its beauty are the catacombs themselves, yet the super friendly staff is the indispensable other part of the wonderful experience we had. Highly recommended!

I took my parents and 13 year old twins. Myself and my parents enjoyed it. The twins found it interesting to begin with but soon they became bored. The tour was for about an hour and the guide was very good. High heels not recommended.

This was an enjoyable experience if you value the religious heritage of Naples. A great history lesson in an interesting environment. The tour was a little short, we would have liked to have seen more of the catacombs. We enjoyed the historic paintings.

THe Catacombe of San Gennaro is a must-see as it reveals the Early Christian procedures to practice the religion when it was prohibited by the Roman Empire.

The catacombes are so interesting, the guides have a very indepth knowledge about the subject and they are all unpaid volunteers. The entrance price includes visits to the other catacombe close by, Catacombe Di San Gaudioso.

The ticket price for the catacombes includes three different attractions that are all within walking distance of each other (including guided tours), making it a bargain. You definitely shouldn't give it a miss: the tours were fantastic. The catacombes (and the tours) have been opened...More

It is actually a very skillful, museum like display, that even people like me who abhor creepiness in all its forms could enjoy..

I think that a "driveway" access has been recently implemented, maybe you should book in advance if you need of this facility. On the website they talk about a street level access.
