Around the origin of our Catacombs much has been discussed, they were simpleburial and never were quarries or underground ways; the first note of the monumentis repeated since the death of St. Agrippino our bishop in the II century, when hisbody was buried there in a noble tomb. Many miracles the saint operated by thetomb, so it became a place of reverence and neapolitan wished to be buried in thatplace.

My sister and I visited this site, and we were very impressed. We arrived early for the 9AM tour I believe. There was free parking at the church, and we bought tickets at the office The ticket for touring the San Gennaro catacombs were good for entry to 2 other catacomb sites as well. There was a small coffee shop... More

This was one of our favourite experiences in Italy. These catacombs are accessible to people who are blind and in wheelchairs. The guides are passionate, knowledgeable, polite and friendly and cute. Antonio was our guide, and he also answered a lot of our questions about Naples. In these catacombs, you can learn a lot about early history of Christianity and... More

The cats comb of Saint G was absolutely mint. Easily the best thing we did in Napoli. Good price for a tight Yorkshireman as well at 8 yoz per person. Went with the wife and she had a right time. Bloody brill.

Because their daily tours are only offered in Italian, we opted to book a private tour with an English speaking tour guide. We had Antonio. He has a degree in art history and is super knowledgable on everything! He had in-depth answers to all of our questions and was very accommodating. The Holy Mile tour is long, but so engaging.... The catacombs were very interesting, with a history dating back to the 3rd century, I think he said. There were some fascinating insights into early Christianity and the development of Napoli. Our guide, Antonio, was really excellent

Because we bought the 3 day arte card we got in for free however we would happily have paid for the experience. Run by an NGO this catacomb seems only to attract passionate people. The guide was informative and we took in a lot from the experience. She also had lovely eyes.
