We took a bus from Positano to Sorrento, then a ferry to Capri, then the tour boat to the Blue Grotto(13.50 euro), then a rowboat(another 13 euro) into the grotto. When it was finally our turn to get into the rowboat, the guy in the rowboat(wearing a hat that said U.S. A.) first had a young couple that were very much in love and needed a room, sit side by side on the floor of the rear of the boat. Then he had me sit on the floor right in front of them between their legs and leaning against them. I felt like I was part of a menage- a- tois. Then he had my husband sit on the floor of the front on the rowboat alone. ?????. He stood in front of me to row toward the grotto entrance, so his @$$ was right in my face, and he was stepping on my jeans. When we approached the opening, and waited for the swells to drop to clear the opening, he sat on the bench right in front of me, and leaned back so he was supine and told us all to lean back, so I was in the middle of the pigpile. I thought "there is no way I could make up this story." It was hilarious, and I don't think it could happen in America.
Anyway, inside the grotto the water was a beautiful shade of blue where the light shone in. We only stayed inside about 3 minutes, and then back the the pigpile.
The blue grotto tour company offered several different boat tours around the island of Capri but the day that we were there they were only doing the one that went straight to the blue grotto. The island of Capri was cleaner and prettier than what I had seen of mainland Italy up to that point.
