another interesting area

Another good area to wander around. Beautiful buildings but also close to the working Naples so lots of narrow and photo friendly streets depicting the true Naples

This place is close to the harbour and to the old streets of Napoli. If you are walking there visit also this place.

Again just by wandering around Naples we came here looking for the old area. Came through many alleyways to get here and it was very impressive. What we loved about Naples is how you find these places in what is very much a working town not a tourist town.

Walk around Napoli..... it is easy .... the Centro Storico is on the way to the Bay. Spend some time taking in this historic site and the sheer size. Add it to your itinerary....

If you are travelling to Italy do NOT eat pizza... not before you arrive in Naples. Go to first not posh looking restaurant and order most simple pizza they have. it is probably going to be just mozzarella and baby tomatoes and some rucola. No need for extras. That cheese don't like to travel so it is best to eat... More

Walking around Naples to see as many sights as possible is easy as it is a compact city but with the intense heat and number of people it can be tiring. Make the effort and see some magnificent buildings whilst stopping to take the time to enjoy it. Do not rush around the city or you might miss a lot.

The guide told me it was based on the square in Rome. When you stand in the middle you can see Vesuvius in the distance. Opposite is the former royal palace. Worth a visit.

The old Naples is not so big. It consists of a lot of small streets in between tot the west the Via Toledo, east the Curso guiseppe Garibaldi, North the Via Foria and the Piazza Cavour, and south the Curso umberto I
