Took the funicilar up to visit the castel and then walked down, that way you have the view infront of you all the time. Loved it, perfect walk and you end up in the old town after a while.

We have just returned from our stay at lago del peyraio, I have to say it was amazing incredible views and it was like staying in a village in southern Italy as opposed to a big city. Bring your comfy shoes and some energy as it's some going when it's hot.

Naples offers tons of beautiful and exceptional places to Visit but Salita del Petraio is an unusual way Enjoying a romantic offbeaten track with a Spendid view over Naples and Capri.
It's a splendid and Scenic walking road to get to the Splendid Saint Martin Monastry & Sant'Elmo Caste (the View over Naples and the Vesuvius is just breathtaking).
Before arriving at the top of the hill have a break in Vomero Neighbourhood (inner city Piazza Vanvitelli) -

Beautiful walk to do as a couple and with excellent viewpoints over the Gulf of Naples, the route is very quiet and in some places it almost seems to nn be in Naples, definitely deserves as a walk!

Hello. I've been reading that the steps up and down Petraio and Pedamentina San Martino are not safe to walk. Can you give me an idea if this warning is exaggerated? I keep thinking that it should be safe to explore this are during the day.
Thank you.
