As others have said, it's an atmospheric spot and easy to get to as it's just by the Mergellina metro stop. I wasn't sure about opening hours and arrived shortly before closing time which was 14.00 on the Saturday. Nevertheless, the kindly guardian let me in and then re-directed me to the tomb when I got lost (it's up some steps at the top of the garden). The Roman tunnel was closed for what looked like restoration and could be worth visiting whenever it re-opens. Also, do see the tomb of Leopardi and catch the Italian film about his life currently available on Netflix! Afterwards, I had a pleasant 30 minute walk down to Chiaia and along the sea front to Castello dell'Ovo.

This took a bit of finding, but it is near the train station Mergellina. It is a nice little park and the tomb is set into a cliff up a winding path and steps. Once you get there, there is nothing to see other than the entrance to the tunnel, but turn around and you get a good view of Naples. The entrance to the tunnel is very cold, great respite on a hot day.

In this nice little parc you can find the tomb of the Roman poet Vergilius. Follow the part up to the top and you will see the familial tumulus where his ashes used to be.

This is a park overlooking the city and its a good spot to do/see something different from the overdose of monuments, restaurants and sea ..in Napoli!

Lots of stairs but half way up you will find what might be Virgil's tomb. When we were here in September 2013 there was a tripod and flowers in the tomb, as if an ancient Roman admirer had been making a fragrant offering.

This little parc offers some shade and a nice view on the city. With a main road and a train station close by, you shouldn't be looking for peace and quiet.
The tomb is nice to see, however all the surveillance cameras gave me an uncomfortable feeling.
